Schottzie in German means Darling… it’s what the kids call their boyfriend or girlfriend… it’s spelled Schatz and the e at the end makes it plural, but it still made me laugh to see that because I’m not sure who would be calling Marge darling.
If anyone has ever been to Schlitterbahn in San Antonio, their mascot is called Schatze… which is a dog, but why the e at the end?
That’s one of the fascinating parts about her. An absolute trailblazer and an absolute piece of sh$t.
I saw my first MLB game at Great American Ballpark when I was in college. Got to spend some time around a few of the Reds players on those late 90’s early 2k teams. Barry Larkin was still around and his brother Byron is an XU legend who ran a somewhat exclusive pick-up game that I played in. Wasn’t unusual for Barry or even Ken Griffey Jr. to show up. At the time a young Barry Larkin Jr. was honing his middle school esq. skills ahead of a trip to Miami.
“The next day, Schott issued a statement saying the claims of racism levied against her were overstated and that she did not mean to offend anyone with her statement or her ownership of the armband. Schott explained that the swastika armband had been a gift from a former employee.”
Settle down everyone, the swastika armband was just a gift.
I remember Schott and my first thought when seeing her name was that she was racist, but I didn’t remember any specifics. I read that link and wow, much worse than I remembered. What an awful person.
I think this is the best decision for him, can’t imagine how difficult it was to manage both sports even if he tried his best to do so. When Jay has been able to focus solely on baseball, i.e. for the first 1/4th of this past season and while playing for team USA, he’s been lights out on the mound and is a legitimate pro prospect.
On the Football side, we’re gonna need to bring in a transfer or two at QB. I think Muskett is capable of being a quality starter but as of right now it only takes one injury for us to be down to a true freshman under center. Can’t afford to risk that especially when we’re projected to have one of the weakest OL’s in Power 5.
Don’t want to turn this into a football thread, but hard to see a lot of positive momentum at this point, which is unfortunate after bringing on a new staff.
Really hope the November tragedy didn’t just break the program.
Woolfolk has the potential to be a major league pitcher, but he wasn’t going to get there as long as he was splitting his time with football. Training to be a pitcher is a year-round commitment these days.
This was my concern, I wonder how much the lost fall work hurt his performance during the last season–very happy for him as this is his best shot at getting drafted
