Shrewd move by GT feel like he was off the board but I like it. Could be the injection of life they need
Interesting. I for sure thought it was going to be Abdur-Rahim at Kennesaw State.
One of those it almost made too much sense
I think Brad Stevens has a real eye for coaching talent. His last two head coaching hires have done really good jobs and now one of the assistants gets the GT job.
Funny thing is Damon was an assistant to Josh Pastner at Memphis I believe lol. Both Arizona boys.
Was the head coach at Pacific for 5 years between Memphis assistant coach and celtics assistant coach. Had one good season. Maybe absorbed some celtics knowledge + big name recruiting in Atlanta.
Huh… now that changes my optimism about him coming in…
Losing record? Man that interview must have been EPIC.
I saw that too - was an assistant under Pastner (that’ll be weird to succeed him) and Sean Miller at ‘Zona. Has he learned how to not get caught cheating?
Loved Stoudamire as a player except for when he and Khalid Reeves gave us the business in a second round game in the 90s.
I expected him to do much better at Pacific than he did but I guess Michael Olowokandi wasn’t walking through the door.
That’s actually not bad by Pacific standards (not a very good program since they moved to the WCC). Plus it’s previous experience working at a program with fewer resources than your conference foes. Love the upside with Stoudamire. Would rather ACC programs take swings like this than hire coaches with higher floors but no chance at a sustained NCAAT presence
You left off your 2 boys here
Edit: my bust. You mean SEC
That Temple job would be a good level for JWilly, but they might be looking for a current head coach.
Sorry @DFresh11 , you have to wait one more year:

Surprised he’s not interested in coaching again now that Barry is on its last season and he doesn’t have to play NoHo Hank anymore.
(there are so many good NoHo Hank gifs)
I cant tell if this is satire or not.

Lol it’s real:
I think it’s one of those things where the school preemptively guesses at what kind of punishment would satisfy the NCAA.
