That was Miami’s worst offensive game of the year, and by a lot. 0.88 ppp. Had only been under 1 ppp three times.

Nice I guess to not be the outlier. But tbh, don’t really take comfort in the loss. It’s a nightmarish feeling, and you have to feel really bad for Purdue guys who sit with that all offseason.
Would assume like UVA and the ball screen continuity O, this loss forces major introspection and a change going into next year.

I realize that the team flamed out in March 2021 and March 2023, but the only thing that made them “mediocre” was your own perception, and, if we flamed out, you could say that you were right, 2019, notwithstanding, when you were pushing the narrative that 35-3 and a natty weren’t good enough because of lineup decisions: Clark should have played less and Huff more.
We were KenPom No. 17 entering the tourney in ‘21 and 34 this year — and top 20 in the polls both years. Neither metric is considered mediocre by anyone.

To be honest I would have been okay with a 5 seed as long as dook didn’t get the 4 seed. It was pissing me off that the pundits and other morons were saying it could only be us or dook when WE had the better record the whole season…but yet when it comes to dook they get some other wishful advantage.
Looking at Purdue’s roster, I really hope they decide to stick together and run it back next year. They don’t have title contender talent but they certainly can put up a better effort than that. I feel terrible for those guys.
