I don’t understand this whole Spring / Summer recruiting thing. We go to these events and come back empty. My wife goes shopping and she always comes back with at least two bags full. Clearly our staff should be bringing at least one recruit back with them. Have their credit cards expired or somethin?
Just want to correct the record here: that’s definitely not Fran’s wife and I believe that’s a coach out recruiting. Have seen his (I think?) face in other of these AAU/HS settings. In fact, I’ve asked if anyone knew who it was, because he seems fairly chummy with Tony. (If I’ve missed a joke, it wouldn’t be the first time!)
Hahaha oh man. I think you might be right.
Also just realized that Jadyn Harris, that wing at OConnell, his dad is Kevin Durant’s Brother LOL. Also the team thrill aau head coach but that seems less important (also explains why he went from team thrill to team durant)
Penn State head coach Mike Rhoades and assistants from Virginia, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall, Xavier, Temple, Lehigh, Monmouth, Holy Cross, and Northern Iowa among those on hand for @StRoseBoysBask/@imanipgh.

Williford (I think) in Philly checking out Matthew Hodge
That 2025vkid someone he also twitter involved with
I like Hodge a lot. Reminds me of Shane Battier.
Are we supposed to take that as a compliment?
Matt Hodge might have helped himself more so than any other player at the event this weekend. A well-built combo-forward of sorts, his frame catches your eye right away and he knows how to utilize it with a high-motor and physical style on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he was able to stretch the floor with his shooting range and show a real passing instinct that isn’t as obvious during the EYBL season. Defensively, he was competitive and locked in, bodying up with bigger players inside and working to get low and wide in his stance on the perimeter. Overall, there’s just a blend of size, strength, physicality, toughness, and versatility that is compelling. Seton Hall head coach Shaheen Holloway was visible at both his games on Saturday while Penn State head coach Mike Rhoades watches Sunday.
You can take it as you like it. I meant it as a compliment.

Matt Hodge vs Donnie Freeman (5 star team takeover syracuse commit)
When Jarin meant decision by the weekend, he meant next weekend.
He was going to commit 2023 to Alabama byt them Bama got Grant Nelson. However apparently there are things still being worked out with Grant Nelson, hence the weirdness of both Nelson and Jarin’s announcement.
“Jarin is leaning Carolina on Mon, Wed and Fri. Leaning Bama Tues, Thur and Sat. The family is at church with Coach Bennett on Sunday”
Lol
Blurbs on Christian Bliss Nate Ament and Austin Williford
“Lead guard” Austin Williford for point guard?
Also let Tony know that I approve of us offering Malcolm Thomas and Jadyn Harris.
NEWS: Jarin Stevenson, the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2024 class, is planning to announce his college decision on Wednesday, June 21st, his father tells @247Sports. https://t.co/QnBGfkrm3W

Two out of three UVA sources say it’s not worth paying attention to, the other thinks there’s a slim chance. fwiw
I’ve heard he’s determined to reclassify but wants to wait until after Peach Jam to declare it. So I’ll go with Alabama as the choice. I think the betting odds probably favor UNC though.
Two out of three UVa sources are like, there’s a great big world out there for you to pay attention to, Haney. Ride a bike. Fly a kite. Do your work on time for once. But I’m like, nah, I’m good. Don’t tell me what to do with my time, 2 out of 3 UVa sources. I will be paying attention to where this kid commits.
UNC mod lol
“Don’t think any basketball staff among the three finalists is confident as of yet.”
I’m not writing off UVA’s chances completely. That might change at any time depending on what comes in haha I think a lot of the “intel” at this point is dated. He was definitely going to Alabama like @Hooandtrue said before Grant Nelson committed. And Nelson is supposed to end up there. He just has to do some summer school before it can be official, that’s the story anyway.
The question is does he go to Alabama anyway. And if not, what’s the alternative. That third UVA source says it’s UVA. That’s an outlier though. Jamie Shaw who’s been ahead in just about all of this with the reclass etc, thinks it turned back UNC’s way if Alabama has Nelson.
