Those had to be air quotes.
To be fair to the people who said that about Shedrick, they probably weren’t aware of how much of a HR staff was about to hit with their awesome BVP as our starting center playing about ~30 mpg idea. It’s all relative folks.
Enjoy your Shedrick jokes, folks, because it would be too emotionally difficult to remember that our staff decided that BVP was an ACC caliber center.
Alright, alright, alright.
self-described NBA comp: John Collins
Also apparently was a high jumper in high school. Kid must have pretty good hops

Q: If you could swap lives with a teammate for a day, who would it be and why?
Robinson: Leon Bond, so I can know what it’s like to be good at fishing and being outdoors.
I had assumed Leon was getting love from the team in that “who do you want to go camping with” question because he was a fun guy, but good to know that he’s got some skills.
Q: Who would play you in a movie?
Robinson: Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker) from 2 Fast 2 Furious.
I have so many follow up questions to this one.
The coolest thing in Anthony’s bio is that his grandfather won a gold medal at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics as part of the USA men’s basketball team.
Feel like we’re going to look back and wonder how A Rob flew so under the radar
I’m going to guess that he does not take handouts.
I think more positively of Bliss’ prospects for being bad at video games. Gym rats are too busy putting up shots to be good at video games.
I could be wrong, but I vaguely remember an interview or something from when he committed when he was talking about ice fishing. Kid is Wisconsin, through and through.
Who was his grandfather?
To be clear here- are we sure Shedrick outperforms his 6.2/3.8 line in Austin this year? Bc I don’t think he does.
I think in-season LRA needs a “practice whisperer” to drop concrete nuggets on practice performance- would probably resolve a lot of our dumbass fan takes (mine very much included).
This dude is chiseled and athletic.
Not to bring anyone down but he’s 6’10 and PR in high jump is 6’4….unfortunately that just translates to he’s tall. (For reference, this is a state division I know very well, and lost many a times to the basketball centers and forwards that were just really tall compared to my 6’0 at 5’11)
Still a great athlete and well built from watching him actually play basketball, I just wouldn’t take any assumptions that he’ll be a Diakite or JA leaper based on those high jump numbers
With his size and build, I’d prefer he actually doesn’t have to rely on leaping. He has the frame to be able to be a defensive stopper without resorting to always going for the leaping block
His shot looks compact and repeatable. And usually guys that don’t start out as super athletes are good natural shooters. He was a terrible athlete as a sophomore and even into his junior season … the change is remarkable on tape.
Yeah, it is easy to forget how much these guys’ bodies are changing, and the variability in human development at that age. Coordination can kick in much later for them, especially if all that energy has been going in to getting to 6’ 10". It is one reason the NBA is well populated with undrafted players. College comes too soon for some.
