The extensions happened last January, not now. Only being reported now because Jacquie filed a FOIR.

Extensions and hiding them like this and a media that doesn’t find out about if for a year does not happen at a serious football school.

UVA is not a serious football school. This is an absolute joke

This is unbelievable. Totally unacceptable, cannot believe they did this. Are we the worst run power 5 football program in the country? Record under Tony would suggest yes…

I don’t understand how this was possibly justifiable. Carla needs to go now.

If they were only extended through March 2026, I guess their deals probably were about to expire? Not sure what the original end dates were. But may have had to extend them if they weren’t going to let them go.

I get Rud because he’s done OK given our talent and depth limitations. I don’t know what they saw from Kitchings the last few seasons that made them feel they needed to lock that up. Let alone give him a $75,000 (14%) raise. I guess Elliott said he wanted to keep him and if his deal was about to be up they felt they had to extend him soon? Not sure why they couldn’t wait till this year was over. It’s not like literally anybody else in college football was blowing up his phone trying to lure him away.

I’m guessing they signed for 2 years originally and the extension was for 2 years. 2 years is pretty standard for P4 coordinators.

Doubt Anae would leave a P4 job to take a pay cut to work for Bronco and I haven’t heard anything about him getting fired.

Yhe coordinator extenstions suck but arent unusual assuming they are standard deals. And likely the buyouts are low.

The news just coming out is as more damning on the sports media than the school IMO

Miami (football school) /Clemson (football school)/FSU (baseball school) would have sniffed this out earlier. But in our defense, we were all focused on CTB’s sudden retirement. But I hear you.

Potentially dumb question - why doesn’t the school announce when they do extensions like that? Why did it have to be FOIA’d? Feels like the type of thing that would be a standard press release.

You know why they didn’t announce these. They normally would.

Wait, you’ve always been a big supporter of des and now you’re upset? I’m confused.

It is not our money but it is our program.

There is a ‘Virginia Way’ and that includes letting the coach fail or succeed in his own terms. When/if Clemson Tony gets the gate then he will only have himself to blame.
