Im indifferent about retaining any guys in particular. If someone wants to stay, I donāt want the new coach to run them off, but Iām not dying for anyone to come back. Itād be nice for guys who have been here at least 2 years or started here as freshmen to come back, but all up to the new coach.

Thatās not their own - each of those conferences is guaranteed 2 of the 16 spots. That leaves 10 spots open
Maybe Ron runs it back from 2023 and we win the CBI??

116 spots between the NCAAT, NIT and the new CBC thing plus however many teams in the CBI and CIT that we wonāt compete in if they still exist.
Currently around 100 on KenPom and BartTorvik. If we finish 500 or better, there should be a spot somewhere for us if we actually want one (but Iām not sure we do).
If we get a shot at the NIT we should 100% take it. Canāt beat extra games/reps.

Depends on where we are in the coaching search.
If things are still in the airā¦ let them play.
If Ronās been extendedā¦ let them play.
If weāve picked our next coach and heās still busy with his current team (i.e. Dancing) AND the team wants to send Ron out with an NIT runā¦ let them play.
BUTā¦ if the next coach is ready to be announced after the ACCTā¦ maybe start the transition as quickly as possible.

I assume it will be left up to the players. If they turn down postseason play, it probably means either (1) theyāre simply not having fun anymore with this team, and/or (2) they feel they need that time to focus on figuring out their next destination (which could include new-coach UVA as part of their āresearchā). Portal opensā¦ March 24ā¦ so a run could cut into that.

I want a coach that doesnāt know what a ātweenerā isā¦if a guy is good at basketball, find a way to use him. Our current coach is himself a tweener. Heās somewhere between Tony Bennett and an extremely average coach who knows some of the words that Tony Bennett would say.

If I was the newly hired coach coming in, I would be prioritizing retaining IMac. He would absolutely be a priority. Heās one of the best shooters in the country and he plays hard as hell. Those guys donāt come around often.
I think we as fans sometimes prioritize potential over accomplishment. Heās unbelievably good and we shouldnāt assume he is gone- we should fight to keep that guy as much or more than anyone for next year. His skillset as a catch and shoot player is absurd and will only get better when we have dudes around him who can collapse a defense. He is the one guy on our team with an elite/NBA level skill that I can see at this point.
If I was the new coach I would be all over IMac. Heās a baller and I think we sometimes donāt appreciate him as much as we should.
