Harris officially returning. As a walk on I would assume?

Hoos now have 15 scholarship* players.

Happy to have him back, great veteran presence to have in the locker room and it’s not at the cost of a scholly. Our green team is gonna be dangerous.

Yeah until the first time Bliss hits a freshman speed bump and Tony yanks him for Dante. Then come the pitchforks.

I just don’t see it honestly, we added Warley and Dai Dai for a reason. If Dante plays anything more than Chase Coleman minutes at the point then I’d be surprised.

There’s a reason why he was politely pushed out in the first place.

This is so weird - I can’t imagine this is a good ā€˜career’ move for him?

I assume there was a cost-benefit of a UVA degree vs middling options. Those same options, at worst, will probably be there next year with a degree in hand.

I think this is bad. Not just because he’s my least favorite player in a while but because any minutes he gets instead of Bliss will annoy me, and I’m sure he won’t get zero minutes.

Harris had ankle surgery after the season, probably didn’t help him on the transfer market. I don’t know what his options were…randomly heard Albany was interested, so I guess that’s probably the level of schools that were interested. It’s messy academically for seniors transferring too. I suspect from his point of view coming back and finishing up his degree was just the clear way to go. I give him a lot of credit for doing in, most guys would let their ego get in the way.

Assuming NIL cover his tuition, getting a UVA degree and then maybe seeking some professional options overseas for a while before seeing what doors that UVA degree can open up might be one of the more sensible decisions made by a college basketball player in 2024 so far.

That and shooting 10.5% from 3 SMH, you might actually have to try to shoot that badly from 3. But regardless that is impressive of him.

If his true shooting ability is reflected by his second-year percentage at Georgetown (.275), then statisticians would estimate a 6% probability that Dante would make 2 out of 20 shots.

Dante has always been a positive force for the team. Him staying is like when we had/ have Chase Coleman.

I absolutely love that he is staying

Hot damn, that’s bad!

If he’s ok with playing as much as Chase Coleman, I’ll agree.

Might be the case

Hard to see him having much of a ā€œcareerā€ as a basketball player. He’s an excellent student and will have a prestigious degree. Makes more sense than graduating from Albany just to get PT

Maybe HooTangFinancial will hire him bro
