Iāve never really followed the talk of committee has already place the top however many seed, I think people usually say down to the 5 line? Like what about the restā¦ most the teams still playing are higher seeds, so why wouldnāt they have already seeded those middling lines and mid major AQās first?
I think itās all just exactly what the committee is supposed to be doing and an echo chamber that makes it more than it isā¦ committee meets each day to put together a bracket, Iām sure they are doing just that. And as more data is added that bracket stays fluid. We are in a good spot to get a 3 seed, letās just stay competitive tonight and go from there.

Bracket matrix hasnāt updated yet but clicking through some of the individual brackets im seeing virginia as a 3 seed in significantly more brackets this morning. Probably still going to average out to be behind Nebraska and Gonzaga on the next update, though but weāll see.

Almost feels like a loss tonight just bumps us back to the 4 line and a win puts us on the 2 line

I kind of buy that the committee doesnāt really give weight to the Sunday afternoon conference title games, since some end like 2 hours before the completed bracket is due. But I definitely think they pay attention through the Saturday games.

I feel like Iām going crazy seeing Alabama ahead of us in multiple top-10 bracketologistsā morning updates todayā¦what is the argument? Lower in all resume metrics and the majority of predictives, one fewer Q1 win in 3 more chances, one additional Q2 loss, not to mention Bediako. It would just feel like the committee throwing them a bone for their NCSOS

Itās still pretty simple. If we win tonight weāre a 3-seed, otherwise weāre a 4. In the case of the latter, the quality loss crowd will trot out the argument that weāre an overrated fraud, and that will be that.
So honestly I donāt care. This team is damn good and primed to make a deep run. If weāre a 4, I pity the one-seed that has to face us in the Sweet Sixteen.

Lunardi finally woke up and did his ONE JOB.
Still has us as a 4. His 3s includes Gonzaga and Nebraska.

lol- I do get a kick every year about how little Lunardi updates the brackets/S curve. This is his time. You would think he would be churning out the updates/scenarios non stop during championship week.

Yes but losing to ucla by 20 and Purdue by 16 are QuaLiTY LoSseS so they dont count.
Losing to Duke by 26 proves that UVA doesnt belong though (but dont look at Gonzagaās results too closely)

Maybe the committee wont outright penalize Alabama for Bediako but come onā¦theyre not going to give them the benefit of the doubt over Virginia.
