Of the brackets that have changed since the last update, how many include uva as a 3? Any way to see that?

his latest post has us matched with msu in the s16

(toppin-less ttu in the 2nd round would be a solid consolation prize if uva does get a 4 though

EDIT: he just posted a new bracket. Tennessee State seems like a weak 14, I think BYU in the 2nd round would be a dream pull (42nd on torvik since Feb 11), and I dont hate MSU as the 2. Arizona as the 1 is rough but doesnt matter unless you get to the E8. Has us going to buffalo and San Jose though oof.

He’s not the best but I do think his unprompted last minute changes tend to be correct.

I don’t think so, other than clicking through them individually. There should be early and frequent updates tomorrow though

Hope so. That would be about as good a path as we could hope for.

Dante Harris vs Chance would be fun

If he got inside info he wouldn’t be ranked 80th or whatever. I do think the fact that our metrics stayed put means we have a decent shot at a three.

It’s actually not lol

He works full time at St. Joes as their media relations person

Edit: I stand corrected he seems to have retired in 2019… so this is just a retirement gig for him now I guess, but he did have a full time job for most his tenure

An underrated aspect in the so called death of the Cinderella is the consolidation of one bid leagues

Grand Canyon dominated the WAC, now they are in the Mountain West. Hawaii won the Big West this year, UC Irvine last year, they are both leaving. Utah Valley-Cal Baptist for the WAC title right now and they are both leaving next year. The USC/UCLA move had such downstream consequences past the death of the Pac-12.

Hoos up to:
12 in Net - +1 - or 14th -1 depending on the site
10 in RPI - +5
7 in ELO - +1

As of this morning at 6 am - Bracket Matrix -
The top 4 seed
Vanderbilt and Purdue moved ahead in WAB moving the Hoos down to 9.

Really should be ahead of Illinois and Michigan State

Damn, Tony Shaver Bowl canceled. Irvine lost to Hawaii, I guess, overnight (just saw Hawaii on the 14 line).

And our 6 would be by far the toughest in BYU. Don’t like that

A week or two ago, I was really into getting a 3 instead of a 4 because the 13s looked better than the 14s and the 5s looked much better than the 6s.

But as I look at bracketmatrix right now, I can’t say I’m having as strong a feeling.

Yale-Penn will matter. I’d love to get Fran/TJP.

And I’d love to get Texas Tech, and I’m scared of Tennessee and Arkansas. But those don’t match up pefrectly with getting 3 instead of 4.

Why scared of Tennessee? They’ve looked pretty bad the times I’ve watched them

So it sounds like Tenn or BYU as the 6 if we’re a 3. If we’re a 4 then I want Texas tech. Wisconsin and Arkansas are the other projected 5s and both seem to be playing great. I think we need Vandy to lose today to stay on the 3 line

Bucket getter guard plus an athletic frontcourt. I mean, they’re a 6 seed and not a 2/3 for a reason, but still…

Also, haven’t watched Ament much, but isn’t he in the Evans mold, where he can give us matchup issues?

All of those teams Tenn, Ark, Bama WI St Johns BYU have dudes. Each would likely have the ā€˜best player on the floor, maybe even next 2’, but we may have the better ā€˜team’. Just have to be us and not shot 20% from 3 or th r the ball over 12 times….

Arkansas (Acuff) and Wiscy (Boyd + Blackwell) scare me the most.

Acuff is on Arkansas
