It was hilarious that this meeting was reported as 9am, then 10am, and now pushed back to “later in the day”:

Like Lane kept realizing no one was gonna show up for his “it’s not you, it’s me” breakup speech.

Lane will find a way to make things as messy as possible

Good chance he was hoping Auburn would win putting him in the Sec championship game vs Georgia … and now no game until much later.

Media making this seem unusual or something … not much different than how the previous coach at LSU came there. Gotta get clicks and such.

How many coaches have left a team with a live (if not exactly probable) chance at a national title? Or at least with a high-stakes game left?

Better to leave on an upswing than Franklins sitch - no?

So Captain Luck is a one-upper?

The timing makes the Lane situation unusual, not that a coach is leaving a successful situation for a situation he perceives to have higher potential.

I think Lane Kiffin is good for the sport.

Ole Miss is a great spot for him. LSU is a perfect spot for him and a once-in-lifetime opportunity.

Can’t pass that job up. I respect the effort to make it fair for the players.

This isn’t correct. You actually can pass up jobs. Unless you’re driven by some sort of compulsion, which I guess we all are, per Sapolsky.

Are they going to replace Ole Miss with Miami or Vandy?

They said they wont drop them out, which i think is BS based on what they did to FSU, i do thibk they lose that hokw game and are gonna end up on some crapy road game

Looks like the same issue with Tulane.

Crazy to think ole Miss is about to get screwed so bad by lane. Lose him and their presumed no1 replacement option

Probably their number 2-4 replacement options in Silverfield, Golesh, and Franklin too.

Yup probably right. Which is crazy cause someone is going to getthe keys to a cfp team. But i don’t think ole miss can pull a big name established coach

Starting to wonder if Ole Miss defaults to Chesney. He had been getting smoke to UCLA but have to imagine he’d choose Oxford over going cross country.

Also seems like Penn State is down to either Josh Heupel or Kalani Sitake.

North Texas is letting their coach do a possible playoff game I believe, wonder if Tulane will as well

Silverfield to Arkansas and Golesh to Auburn. Wouldn’t be surprised if Ole Miss goes internally with Pete Golding
