Star city represent

A little worried that he’s not quite the J’Mari style workhorse but will always love a Salem 4-star suiting up for the hoos

My neighbor is a die hard TN fan and he said he can be that for us. Thinks he would feast in the ACC.

Thinks he much better suited for a pro style offense

Gotta disagree here. You want some continuity with the guys you’re bringing in. Provided great depth.

Now one less deep at the position and have to fill in with another portal target.

This is not what I’ve heard and I’ll stick with that. I expect to see a QB commitment pretty early in this window. A lot of moving parts to see which one that might be but I think we’ll know soon.

More tough news for the defense. Was looking forward to Osborne and Marcellus next year

Mercenaries. Don’t get attached. Glorified situationships.

Ah, that one sucks.

New Mexico State DL Ezra Christensen will be visiting. Had 6 sacks this year after transferring in from Fresno State. Holmes probably has a relationship here?

Ugh I know it was a bad situation, but I don’t really want much to do with Chiles. I view him as a downgrade from Chandler.

Sounds like Nebraska is getting Minchey though.

Chiles at least seems very well liked/respected and could fill the leadership void without Chandler. Multi-year team captain even as underclassman. If he’s behind a monster OL, I’d be supportive. Clearly he still has plenty of untapped talent.

Seems similar mold to AC with more physical upside

I’m skeptical… Staff hasn’t shown a ton of QB developmental chops. This goes for Minchey and Chiles. I don’t want us in the position of having to build a guy up, I want someone ready to go like Chandler was.

At least Minchey has multiple years left. Chiles seems both unready AND only has 1 year. Unless they really really like one of the young QBs and just want one more year of seasoning on them (and have a good sense they can hold on to him which I’m not sure is realistic for anyone these days), I’d much prefer Minchey.

Side note: is there some link with Jonathan Smith and Elliott/Clemson that isn’t obvious? Odd that DJU went to Oregon State with him and Elliott seems to be the favorite for Chiles.

They run similar offenses as far as I can tell which may be the connection.

As of a couple of weeks ago we were favorites to land Christian Ellis, a safety from VPI (out of Jacksonville, Fla.) who entered the portal after Pry got canned.

And I hear we’re in good shape for a freshman CB at Michigan State, Aydan West, who’s from Maryland and had originally committed to Pry and VPI before going to East Lansing.

I wonder how many kids are salary dumps either because they didn’t produce or are asking for too much in their next season?

I’d be surprised if we took either of those guys. Neither really did anything this last season. Also believe 247 said Ellis didn’t clear admissions.
