Its too bad. Winning that one would have punched their ticket. As it stands now, they probably just need 1 more win to get into the first 4. Would be nice to see them get out of the First 4, but they’ll need luck and multiple wins for that.

ESPN has both teams in the “last four byes” territory. So the loser may still get into the Madness, but… better to win and erase all doubt.

We’re now down 39-16. I thought we’d still make the NCAAT with a loss, but getting boatraced by a fellow bubble team at home…
Whatever happens, whether we make the NCAAT or not, we’ve gotta move on from Mox. I love her as a person, but “bubble team” is her ceiling.

I don’t follow the women’s program as closely as the men’s but it seems like we’re either really good or really bad. Not a lot of back-and-forth, trading baskets.

What an absolute embarrassment. Clock inadvertently stopped with 16.3 seconds to go. Play continued for several more seconds with VT taking a shot, getting a rebound, another shot, another rebound… and then the whistle is blown to fix the clock.
VT has the ball under their basket, down 1, with 5.7 seconds to go.
Questionable foul call on UVA. VT sinks both FTs. UVA calls timeout to advance the ball, down 1, with 1.7 seconds to go.
Final score: VT 83, UVA 82.

Horrible foul call at the end. Hate that the ladies lost that way after such a hard fought comeback.

That was a really, really bad foul call against UVA on VT’s final drive. I saw no contact at all. Good comeback but hate to see it end on a bad call. Men’s team was there watching, cool to see.
