When you have multiple McD All-Americans, and top 50 recruits, you can’t complain about talent. Only Kentucky and Duke consistently recruit better.

Pretty ridiculous thing to say. And they’re not particularly “young.” They have six players averaging 20+ minutes per game. 3 of the 6 are juniors or seniors. No freshmen.

Hubert will get 1-2 more seasons then they’ll hire Wes Miller or a big name. Their commitment to hiring within the “UNC family” is odd to me

Kind of interesting when you eyeball the data. When UNC plays a top 100 team at home, they wax them. When the play a top 100 team somewhere else (road or neutral), they lose and often get waxed.

ACCN is using the half-time show of the UNC-VT game to air segments of the Coach K special and talk about Coach K’s greatness. If I was a UNC fan I would be losing my mind. Is this like a deliberate troll?

Do we have any reason to care who wins this VT-UNC game? Anything help us? Maybe VT winning to pull UNC down and because we already have a win over VT?
Of course I hate VT so I’m great if they lose too.

I think hoos need VT to win to keep everything close and it makes their win over VT look better. But not sure any of it matters.

I hate UNC more than VT. There I said it. (really hate their 247 boards. They even had a thread called “Is UVA slipping in the ACC” after they beat us. They then proceeded to get blown out twice in a row with their 5 stars).

On trend last night. Double digit victory. They have two home games coming up against non-top 100 and barely top 100 competition. However, they are also playing 3 games in a week, so that’s worth watching. Of course, now that I’ve noticed the trend, it will probably end.

My early impression of Hubert is he’ll do just enough not to get fired. Every year win 20 or so in the regular season, finish between 3rd & 5th in the ACC, get UNC into the NCAAT as a 6-8 seed, but not the national power they’ve been for decades.
It won’t be the dumpster fire it was with Doh, but they’ll be above average in an ACC that will provide 6-7 easy wins per year just off their talent gap.

Yeah, I think they’ll tease enough and he will get good talent for the next couple years. Then the question will be if he’s learned enough on the job to go on a real run…

Agree with y’all on Hurbert’s future. His greatest flaw will be he coaches at UNC and their fanbase expects championships and compares everyone to Dean and Roy. Even stringing together 20 win seasons and perhaps an ACC title won’t be enough if he doesn’t find his way to a Final 4 or championship game.
