Meadows was one of the guys I thought would be coming regardless of the coach. I think Shannon Taylor is his coach.

I think he still will be. He hasn’t decommitted. Would be foolish for him not to hear out other ACC level staffs while UVA doesn’t have one in place.

My best guess based on social media and my speculation up to this point is:

In almost for sure: Twitty, Meadows, Burgos, Bettridge

Confident they’re coming if the new staff want them: Hardy, X Brown, Bracie

No clue: McDonald, Gay, Wilson

Doubt they come: Lane, Crawford

Already decommitted or don’t see any way they come: Holmes, Brown, McKenzie twins

How about the potential shift in the balance 0f power in the ACC over the last 10 days?

Clemson loses both coordinators after their worst season in 5 yrs

UNC about to lose their all world qb to the draft and Mack Brown needs to start over

Pitt lost their OC and 17 yr senior qb

Miami fires their HC and goes full on SEC dumping millions into their program and bringing home a favorite son

VT fires their forever 6-6 coach and starts over

Virginia’s coach quits and they hire one of the Clemson coordinators

We thought 2021 season was up for grabs nxt yr is gonna be fun.

I think Luke Mayes little brother is going to be a better QB than Howell

The BC and UL QBs are coming back for their extra years too.

Cunningham at UL is a player I have trouble reading. There are shades of greatness there but feels like I get burnt everytime I bank on him.

Unfortunately looks like were about to lose Burgos and Brody Meadows to Tech, Burgos just de-committed and Meadows has CBs to Tech

Which is annoying because both teams are in coaching changes, so why wouldn’t they stick it out with us and go to the dark side?

I for one find it hard to get upset about someone who hadn’t step foot on campus, we know the people who stick with this program want to be here.

We’re going to lose recruits with a coaching change - just the way it is. Kids committed with the idea they’d be playing under a certain set of coaches and in a certain system, so it’s not strange at all that some would change their plans. And it’s likely going to be a number of our top recruits because those are the ones other programs will have been calling since the day Bronco announced his departure.

Hopefully Elliott is able to keep enough folks in the class and signing their LOIs that it isn’t crippling. Then once we get through early singing day, he will hopefully have assembled a staff and can start to add more pieces to replace what we lost. He has a good rep as a recruiter, so while the next few days may be painful, it’s very possible that in a couple of months we are feeling pretty decent about our position with incoming talent. Just going to take some patience.

The one difference now from previous years is that the transfer portal will give TE a change to supplement recruiting attrition in the way that Bronco and London could not.

Hello @Batazawa and @MaineWahoo in this situation where *both coaches have changed in the past couple of weeks, these young men aren’t necessarily familiar with either and were not recruited by either coach previously.

But what these young men HAVE seen are the campus, perhaps met some other teammates, aware of the curriculum etc. So if that was not enough to be sold on their current location then they weren’t sold on UVA at all.

With that said- of course these men are free to make their own decisions and we will be fine!

Man, I thought of all the commits, Twitty, Meadows, Burgos and Bettridge were coming for the school and not the coaching staff. Considering Bettridge removed references to being committed from his social media, I’m hitting 1 for 4 on those.

Oh well, hopefully Elliott finds some players for in in the portal and maybe late recruiting. With his local knowledge and established contacts, he should have a better 2023 class than Bronco’s 2017 class.

Any legit rumors of potential staff? Not just idle speculation, but actual rumors?

Well their staff had an extra 2 weeks to target all our recruits while we were in limbo. Switching from one state school to another isn’t that big of deal for these kids.

Sounds to me like Elliott wants to overhaul a large portion of the staff. He did say he wants to evaluate the staff and has spoken to the players about their opinions of staff members. I can only hope that he retains Beck and Hagans at the least.

How does BYU, the #13 team in the country, end up in the Independence Bowl and end up losing to UAB?
