Sucks for the players and the seniors esp. Probably helps TE a touch to be able to clear out Broncos stuff a few days earlier and get to building.

Yes, very disappointing for the team and our fans. I will be somewhat surprised if the CFP isn’t impacted, unless teams hide results. Omicron appears to be incredibly infectious. Two of my kids tested positive today, even though they are fully vaccine boosted, apparently catching it from a friend of theirs’ while watching a movie at her house a couple of days ago. Their friend was also vaccine boosted. IHME, the COVID modelers from the University of Washington who are frequently cited by the news, are predicting that 60% of the US population will be infected in the next two months. The good news being that IHME is also predicting a much lower hospitalization and fatality rate than Delta due in part to widespread vaccination and/or infection by earlier strains.
I won’t get into the politics of how sports should be responding to a very infectious, but probably less deadly variant. Nevertheless, hard to fathom that the hopefully last surge of Covid won’t reek havoc on the sports world for the next couple of months.

Dang. That’s too bad.
Now it’s about time to start announcing our own staff. Guys making decisions on staying or leaving are going to want to have a chance to know their position coaches and what not. Although maybe they already are and it’s just behind the scenes.

Not that I need to be doling out career advice in a career I know nothing about, but why go be a QB coach again, at a lateral move at best? Unless there’s a wink/nod thing about him getting OC in a year or two…

Well that Syracuse staff may not be around in two years. So guess we’ll see.
He may just really like working with Anea. We also have zero idea whether Elliott wanted to keep him on, and with a young family, he may have just wanted to lock down employment before the coaching carousel fully stopped spinning.

I’m kinda with you feels like an odd move. @MaineWahoo has a good point. But I can’t imagine Cuse is more than a stopover. That staff won’t survive another bowless season putting Beck back where he started.
That said I wouldn’t be suprised at all if TE wasn’t tearing down walls to keep him. Not a knock on Beck but speaks more to systems and familiarity.
