Well, with respect to Kaiser, Jr.'s recruitment, if Kaiser, Sr. was on a football scholarship to Maryland at one time, even if he did leave due to homesickness, then that is a bit of an advantage Maryland. Maybe not much, but a bit. More significantly, IMO, is the notion that Willard can sell the idea of being a part of a rebuild. I think this was the approach Coach Bennett used with Harrell, Harris, Mitchell, Johnson, Regan, & Baron. Maryland also has a lot of playing time to offer. At the moment, Virginia is pretty well stocked with wing players for the 2024 season (Franklin, maybe, then Murray, McKneely, Bond, & Dunn). That’s a pretty crowded field, IMO. I imagine the success of this recruitment is dependent on Kaiser’s relationship with Coach Bennett and the appeal of Virginia’s academics.
Yeah but Maryland sucks
This is an important point we need to remember/shouldn’t lose sight of.
@Hooandtrue ,that is very interesting. I have a family event to go to tomorrow evening but i may have to come up with an excuse. Greensboro is only a little over an hour away
I need to talk to Freddie anyway
Why, do you represent a blue blood?
If i go you cab be assured i will be dressed head to toe in UVA attire. And yes i will be representing a blue blood IMO
Can be sure,lol
Damn, North Carolina is loaded. Maybe Jaydon and Freddie will go head to head
It’s been a few years since they had the Josh Level game. If i remember right it’s all about the fun and entertainment. NBA All Star type score, Rucker Park style guy on the mic etc. Cool but not like real competitive.
Throwback to the Jaylen Curry days
I wonder why no Jarin Stevenson?
That sucks. They should be playing for blood.
Power described his game to Rivals.com.
“I’m more of a guard than people think," Power said. "I would describe myself as a big ball handler who can make a lot of plays for others. I love to pass and get people involved and I think that comes from my IQ that I’ve developed playing since I was a little kid.
"I’m versatile and create a lot of mismatches on the floor because of my mobility and size. I have improved my shooting a lot this past year, but I still have some work to do so I can become more consistent. I bring to the floor a lot of energy because I love playing defense and can rebound with a lot of the larger centers I play against.”
Iowa has received an official visit and Power has also visited Boston College, Providence, and Virginia Tech all unofficially.
“My relationship with the people at the program will be the most important. I need to be able to trust the coaching staff and know I’m walking into a good group of guys on the team,” Power said. “I also need somewhere that stresses player development. A winning culture and a school/community that is invested in the success of the team.”
I know a place…..
To be fair about Nick Janowski, is there anyone playing high school basketball in the country who doesn’t have a scholarship offer from VT? ![]()
Nope.
A VT hoops offer is about as rare as an ASU football offer.
