I know Tony is looking more for a bucket getter combo pg who is transitioning to pg rather than a pure pg but Silas Demary did have a good game as well (yeah its an all star game lol but he was one of Shawās standouts)

Edit: man my dream was a Demary Dilione duo. Still crossing my fingers forthe 0.000000001% chance of it happening
Edit 2: Just realized Demary and Dilione were playing together in the lineup tonight as well. ugh
Also Jaydon Young hit these two contested 3s one on one vs Freddie

Also not UVA related but this Dunk would have won this yearās NBA dunk contest lol (to be fair, anything is better than someone advertising their NFT and then missing attempts for one minute in a row)
Speaking of camps/events.
Kyle Guy is hosting his own event in Indiana for the top players in the state. Wonder if he will consider inviting Wisconsin kids in the future

Kyle Guy is far too young to talk about the ānext generation.ā Or, Iām just old as dirt.
Also noticed pops was liking Oak Hill stuff (along with Oak Hill head coach liking all of Jamieās offers).
Freddie Dilione won the gameās Most Valuable Player award as the leading scorer (27 points) on the winning team. April was a big month for On3ās No. 60 player in 2023. He picked up a handful of offers from Texas, Alabama, Virginia, and more. In his first game back from a shoulder injury, Dilione continued at the Josh Level Classic.
He was an opportune scorer, scoring primarily in transition and off broken plays. He is a strong and physical guard who plays with confidence scoring the ball.
Recruitment: Dilione has already taken an official visit to Virginia. He has an official visit set to VCU for June. He told On3 he is setting visits with Texas, Houston, and Alabama.
LOL VCU board had the same fear I had āHeās going to get paid somewhereā lol. Texas and Alabama are going to give him a bag and a half and Sampson at Houston aināt a clean cookie. On top of a school like UCLA/all the schools that miss out on the Isaiah Collier recruitment looking for a lead guard this summer.
Silas Demary just screams UVA and Elmarko Jackson is a stud. Lets just offer them or whoever else is next on the pg docket and keep recruiting Freddie for that 2nd guard spot/starting pg right away while the other guard is a 4 year pg.
I know Tony blew Freddie away/Dilione keeps mentioning how incredible Tony was. But that doesnāt mean much. Was Tony Keelsā favorite coach? In my method of using the 2nd guard spot on a combo guard/lead guard you atleast get your pg of the future locked up while still recruiting Freddie and hoping that impression wins out in the end/him believing we are the best developmental path to the NBA that outweighs any bag.
I donāt even know if we are the right developmental path for him tbh.
Dude would be a beast the way Houston or Alabama runs.
Imagine Devon Hall but he was never passive or hesitating or indecisive. Thatās Freddie Dilione
While you point out Devonās downsideā¦what got him on the floor was his perimeter defenseā¦if Dillione can defend the perimeter defense and handle the ball like himā¦we will win a lot games with him hereā¦
Oh yeah. Devon Hall even with his lack of assertiveness still made an NBA roster and has been killing it in europe/could be one of those guys like Gill who comes back and makes an NBA roster with a strong locker room presence.
I like Demary and Elmarko because they would give us what Reece gives us: the ability to shut down the other teamās pg. Perimeter defense in general was painful at times with our packline getting sliced and diced outside of Reece, especially when Kadin was off the floor to not clean up shots at the rim. (a conversation more appropriate for otherthreads my b). But choking off the head of the snake, so to speak, still helped immensely. I also like the tenacity they play with. Both of them are DAWGS. We need that in the most āviolentā way possible.
#3 in grey is Freddie, #3 in Purple is Jaydon Young, #1 in grey is Silas Demary, #23 in purple is GG Jackson. Jahseem Felton 2024 #12 in purple No gus bus (injury maybe)
A lot of D1 players/future NBA players
Lol man does Tony love himself some Wisconsin kids ![]()
sheesh!! Heās loyal to his home state for sure.
Iām no longer having a warm and fuzzy feeling we are gonna land Gapare, unfortunately. Tough blow if he lands elsewhere, heās the type of player we need more of to upgrade the roster (athleticism and versatility).
A Maryland fan says one of Tafaraās ācrewā (COUGH HANDLERS COUGH) thinks heās a 5 star lol. A lot of these schools want to redshirt him. Could explain why he isnāt piling up the offers as much as he should for a prospect with his potential. Seems like our staff is still trying to break that barrier but the information we have from that rival interview is weeks old so idk
Donāt think schools want to redshirt him. I think he is having clearinghouse issues getting academically eligible for next year and will have to redshirt because of that. Schools are probably waiting for that situation to sort itself out. Similar scenario to what Mamadi dealt with. Also many other athletes who start their high school careers internationally and then transfer to a US high school.
I do think some schools want to add more meat to his bones ( I saw syracuse fans talking about it).
But me personally I would take Tafara without redshirting. Would give us that rim protection at the 4 backing up Jayden. And have Traudt back up Kadin at the 5.
A Jayden Kadin Tafara Traudt front court rotation would be elite.
But only if the NCAA lets you lol which seems very much in doubt
