WAG here, but Iād say a tic lower on all. 2.5 for Thomas, 2 for Grünloh and De Ridder, 1.5 for Hall, White and Onyenso. 1 for Lewis and Tillis. So thatās what, 13+
I think youāre approximately half a million high on everyone
Edit: last dispatch from HGN on this:
De Ridder would have us right over $14m according to this.
Iām reading all āover $2mā as less than $2.25m at most until proven otherwise.
I had classes with this guy and didnāt like him for zero reason whatsoever.
Did you occasionally glance over at him and he was staring at you with that smile?
I feel like Malik may be $3M. I donāt think a $2.5M offer for him would have completely overwhelmed the competition, which is how it sounds like it went down.
He also had a limited market of schools willing to risk waiting for/getting burned by his waiver application, which seemed unlikely initially.
Now Iām questioning myself, Goodman agrees with me
Could be wrong but I think itās in literally every partyās interests for leaked numbers to be rounded upward at least slightly relative to true value. Players establish a higher baseline pay for their next round of negotiations, agents appear more effective, schools look like higher spenders willing to pay for good talent. Latter is probably the most arguable one as schools also donāt want to balloon all asking prices but wonder if individual schools really think like that.
Just something to think about when reading all the reported numbers.

Veesaar, Powell, Evans, and Stevenson are all Top 200 transfers on EvanMiya, so itās a functional starting lineup, though obviously minimal continuity. Bench is a massive question mark; 5-star Caleb Wilson has one-and-done buzz (NBADraft.net has him in the '26 Lottery), and Jayden Young is obviously at least a proven ACC role player. Otherwise Brown is a bust and the rest arenāt sure thing Day 1 ACC guys.
Should be a top half ACC roster but by no means likely for the NCAAT.
functional! Exactly what Iām looking for out of a top 5, potential top-2 payroll in the sport!
Stating the obvious, it feels like thereās a lot on Trimbleās shoulders to take the next step or two in his development
If UNC is going to compete in the ACC or nationally, Wilson and Dixon need to be All ACC caliber, IMO.
I agree they likely overpaid, but their brand doesnāt carry the weight it used to, maybe because of Hubie, maybe because of the general decline of the ACC, so like us they have to go over market to some degree.
And āfunctionalā is a good starting point in this era of near-total roster turnover. There really isnāt a weak spot in the starting lineup. And to UNCās credit, they arenāt banking on any mid-major all-stars to translate their game immediately to a tougher level of competition; all their transfers are coming from Top 6 leagues, so the impact should be more predictable.
Are we giving the Mountain West Top 6 designation?
They were the 6th best conference in KenPom last year. Four NCAAT teams, same as the ACC yet with 7 fewer teams.
I got a feeling heās going to be unchained from being a reserve and will get up offa that thing and show why itās a manās world to prove that he isnāt super bad.
Does the ACC deserve Top 6 designation?
Half of it does.
