šŸ€ ACC Basketball Offseason 2024

Yeah, their issue the last couple years hasn’t really been about talent. Maybe it wasn’t top-tier, but they had plenty of guys who could have been good players in the right situation. They just had a dumpster fire’s dumpster fire situation for both roster construction and coaching.

6 out of the 10 are seniors, so looks like they’ll have a pretty big rebuild next year too.

This is how screwed up the system is, even the talking heads who are supposed to know all the ins and outs don’t understand it. Not just about wins and losses anymore, Jeffrey.

Dunno if I would recommend Lunardi for this…they should probably contract with a predictive model maker to get better team projections for scheduling purposes.

Wait actual decision makers… trust Lunardi on this? LOL let’s save the league some trouble and have @DFresh11 slip @Raleigh_Hoo contact info to Carla. He’s 100x better than Lunardi

Not sure where to post this, but I found it interesting - University of California Regents is requiring UCLA to pay Cal $10 million per year for the next three years for the breakup of the Pac 12 and UCLA going to the Big 10. They call it ā€œCalimony.ā€

Are we actually considering Goodman someone who knows the ins and outs of college basketball? But I guess that is the point.

Whichever idiot invited Lunardi should be fired immediately.

The idea you can game NET comes down to one idea: you can MURDER horrible teams you’re ā€œsupposedā€ to beat by 20-25 by 40 if you don’t call off the dogs (dawgs). I’m skeptical.

If I’m wrong that’s the main idea, steel man the you-can-outwit-NET argument for me.

This is very amusing to me:

Brunson popping off has done a lot of dudes a favor…now if you are a kinda-short guard with little-to-no wingspan differential (and maybe a little stocky), that’s no longer a negative because hey, maybe you’re the next Jalen Brunson!

Alright Givony is just going full clown behavior now, come on

Sheppard being 1.5 years younger projects that he can bulk up. I think in the nba Reed will be 10-15 pounds heavier and not as slight as Steph

Whenever a hoops coach struggles in his first few years, someone alway points out that Coach K struggled as well his first few years.

Like if we just give Kenny Payne 3 more decades eventually he’ll figure it out.

Posted in transfer thread as well; wasn’t sure where I should put it. For purposes of this comment Goodman has clearly come around! :grinning:

I’m giving things until the end of the month for rosters to truly settle; there are a couple ACC programs still very active in the Portal (like UNC hosting VAL this weekend, and a couple others still stuck at single-digit scholarship players for next season).

But by and large my initial read on the ACC is that, while us winning it seems like a bit of a long shot (I’d probably be forced to pick UNC and Duke right now with their incumbent backcourts, I do prioritize the value of veteran guards), the ACC is definitely wide open enough to challenge for a strong finish. I haven’t really looked into Cal, Stanford, and SMU yet but I can’t imagine they’re not diluting the league’s difficulty somewhat, especially when they have to fly cross country to play.
