True. There’s probably a couple of different routes towards unlocking more 3PA; one is just shooting them with less space (which is what Cormac would help with), I think another is getting paint touches that put the defense in rotation, and eventually leaving a shooter, which is what I hope Rohde would be able to help with, or maybe better Buchanan finishing on the rolls.

Without a doubt. I am from San Diego, so I am no stranger to following the Mountain West; Colorado State has been consistently good, so its not a surprise. It would be nice if the ACC could pick up some of these wins though.

I would like to think that Tony had a private film session with Rohde after that game and showed him the numerous times he should have shot, penetrated and just been more aggressive. There were SO many teaching moments that came out of that game. Assuming he still believes in him, he has to convince him he can be more than a fifth wheel.

No. There’s no relation that I’m aware of. The Clemson/Cincinnati Newman is from Greensboro. Johnny New has lived in Richmond since he retired from the NBA.

Blocker mover is a beautiful offensive scheme, but it requires time to master and every player on the court needs to be a high IQ asset who can execute the system, so I have honestly grown to hate it lately in the new landscape of NIL and transferring. Hard to master BM in todays game of quickly shifting sands.

Dick Bennett invented it from scratch, right? One thing I struggle to understand is how Dick was so innovative yet Tony so tied to an outdated offense. I’m not sure we can ever get back to a top 10 offense with B/M being a large % of possessions in the 2020’s. Why can’t Tony get creative like his pops?

It should be a good to great win, I think likley Q1. Florida just needs to be top 50 for it to be that.
Entering conference play with no Q3+ losses and at least one Q1/Q2 win is not the worst place to be. Hopefully WVU can turn it around and be a NET top 100 team then there is a Q2 win. If we can knock off A&M and Memphis should be Q1 opps as well. Win one of them then we will be in pretty good shape entering conference play.
