Scott Cross feels like the right fit, but Alexander and even Richey would be home run hires for GT, methinks

I feel like there should be quotes around ā€œworkā€.

Dickie V is advocating for Bobby Hurley to be hired at Syracuse.

Getting another personality coach in the league whether you love or hate him wouldnt be the worst thing in the world.

Looking over his trajectory, maybe ASU is a tough place to win (I have no idea), but his career has been worse than I remembered. Made the NCAA tournament 4 times in 13 seasons which is… fine, I guess. And 3 of those times they were a First Four team and he’s never advanced past the round of 64. He’s never had a season with single-digit losses, even when he was coaching Buffalo in the MAC.

He provides entertainment value, and is probably better than Autry. But I feel like Syracuse should be able to do better.

Cuse will hire Hodgson.

The reporting yesterday was that it was McNamara’s if he wanted it I thought

I mean they both might be great basketball coaches… but… will they bring the circus we need to get the ACC eyeballs?

Wins be damned!

Let’s try for a good coach at Cuse, but maybe a circus coach at BC.

Circus coach at VPI would be fun, too. Buzz was maybe a little too good, but he did bring the circus…

Hodgson’s got the better resume, but I guess Cuse could be feeling the age-old siren song of ā€œwin the press conference.ā€

I wonder if anyone makes a run at Johnny Dawkins. A little older (~60?), but he’s made UCF into a more-than-respectable program.

I’m not convinced UCF isn’t a better platform than any other gettable job for him, though. Unless he hates Mickey Mouse.

@AdventiveQuasar technically speaking, Gerry has an NcAA-T berth, and Hodgson doesn’t. Does USF have an at large case?

I will say, going from one longtime Boeheim player / coaching disciple to another feels odd, but maybe it smooths the relevant egos a little better (Boeheim being the main relevant ego, but maybe Melo too)

Finally, did Dwight Schrute have a Bryan Hodgson bobble head on his desk… nope.

Kudos to him for sticking around

Now rumors Hodgson to Providence. Not sure whether that or Cuse is a better job, but Providence is at least in a league that makes sense for its hoops program.

Not good enough options this year I guess. Tough for cuse.

Obviously always a risk, but I think he’s smart to hold out. Depending on where you think Cuse falls there might not be any top 20 jobs open this year

I want to see Schertz without Robbie Avila
