Elite 8 Poll - Jan 9

I’m a week late on purpose, and a day late because I’m lazy and/or busy. Same concept as we did in December. So the rest of this is mostly cut and paste:

Vote for the 8 teams you think will be in this year’s elite 8. The 20 choices (max allowed in the poll format) are the top 19 in the current AP poll (i.e., before the new one comes out today at noon), plus an “other” choice. If you pick “other”, please declare who you have in mind. This will close Tuesday 1/10 at 12 noon eastern.

If you like, go back and check how you did come March 26. I’m mostly curious to see how knowledgeable college hoops fans think the tourney is going to play out, as the season plays out, and in particular how results change as we get more info.

Previous poll linked here if you want to see results / how you voted:

Other: Northwestern. Went chaulk last week. Adding a Cinderella this week.

Thanks, but doesn’t look like your votes were registered.

Forgot about UNC… would take my throwaway Xavier vote back to UNC. As I said in another thread, the Heels are not the team that was ranked pre-season No.1 but they are also a lot better than the team who lost their way and bombed out of the top 25.

Other = Kansas State … or TCU … ok K State

Another Wildcat wildcard. I was also looking hard at KSU as my other.

Only teams I’m super confident in from that list are Houston, Bama, and Kansas. Brackets will determine so much obviously but I think there’s gonna be a ton of upsets this year in March Madness, bunch of quality teams but not many ‘elite’ ones.

LOL who voted for Virginia? Ridiculous.

Doh, forgot Bama. Gonna switch them and TCU…

Yeah, starting to a get bit settled at the top, maybe? Or maybe it will all change again in the next couple weeks.

Biggest surprise for me has been Purdue’s relative staying power (not with the voters necessarily – but that they haven’t fallen off that much in Big Ten play … yet)

For all the legions of fans that follow this, I’ll do a new one next Sunday evening.
