Fall Recruiting Action

Bobi interview with Bossi. His 3 visits are Maryland, Rutgers and Loyola. Seems like Kansas and UVA want to see him in person as HGN has said in the past. Very positive UVA blurb though. Could be ours if we pushed it seems like

Sounds like he some kind of workout in KS last week. I wonder if any of the UVA coaches were there.

Open period starts 9/10. But it does sound like Bobi is impressing so far.

Hmm, three “loves” in one short paragraph is pretty nice.

Leon Bond gonna end up everyone’s favorite hoo from this class. Book it.

No disrespect to the Isaac’s.

Leon Bond is absolutely my favorite recruit this class and I don’t feel bad saying that, considering Traudt and McKneely are going to be millionaires sooner than later from the #isaacsquared merch

That kinda sounds like UVA’s recent MO!

I really like Bond and Traudt but McKneely is my fav. He’s got the charisma and he started it all!!

I think I will wait to see them on the court. Ty became my favorite of the 2016 class but not until their 2nd year when I came to really appreciate his demeanor and leadership.

with renewed interest in Bobi it could help land either him or Dunn. I’d be happy with either as Bobi is a Dre’ clone and Dunn is a slashing guard like the dude from Texas Tech except hopefully can shoot much better.

Jerome was in the house ever since that North Eastern showdown against Villanova. He is my favorite player from the class, and actually went to my Cousins Highschool a few years after he graduated so that’s cool.

Its funny, that one game with the hype guy when McKneely played Bronny oddly stuck with me. Now everytime I think of McKneely’s name, I hear the hype guy calling out “McKNEELY!” when he got hot down the stretch.

It’s very reminiscent of the guy on the call in the video of KD at Rucker park, which makes it even cooler

Paper, rock, scissors for #1?

Interesting that Leon and Isaac M have the same size torso when seated but you can see how much longer Leon’s arms and legs are. Leon also appears at least 2 inches taller so I guess they are 6-3 & 6-5 or 6-4 and 6-6.

While that may come to be, I am very skeptical we will ever see all five players on the floor as legitimate three point threats. I don’t think it’s going to happen if for no other reason than Coach Bennett’s demands for defensive excellence. Between the demands for defense, rebounding, and ball handling, it seems a bit unlikely to me that all those can be met by five players with consistent three point range. As I said, I could be wrong, but I think it is improbable.

I think that it doesn’t necessarily have to be that all 5 are “threats”, just that every player is willing (will shoot it) and able (can make an open 3). If there’s no one to sag off of that’s when our offense can be really deadly

I think we are at a “agree to disagree”. You absolutely can recruit players with defensive versatility who are also good 3pt shooters. We see it in our recruiting targets for 2022 (Dunn, Phillips, Klintman) and our 2023 targets.
