That is about all we need
Iāve always said Traudtās obvious NBA comp was Steph Curry
Edit: Iām also enjoying imagining Tonyās reaction if Traudt did this in a game at UVA. Just strolling up and launching a three from the logo. To be clear, I love it in this setting, but I imagine Tony would have a stroke.
If he misses, Tony would have 100% benched him LOL. But if he makes it JPJ goes insane. Worth it in my opinion in a game where we are up 10 early.
Reminds me of Ty launching from the logo in Syracuse.
Reminds me of the year Tony won his first ACC Tournament. We got the lead and itās less than a minute to play. Its somewhat of a fast break and you expect us to run some clock off. Not Joe Harris though. He throws up a 3ball I know Tony almost has a stroke when he does. It went in and everyone goes wild.
To this day I hate to think what happens if he misses it
Exactly! It seems like Ty Jerome hit *all of his shots from a ridiculous distance. Even if he missed one- he knew he wasnāt goi g to be taken out since he was the team leader.
That shot keeps getting later and later as time marches on lol
That game is on YouTube, and the shot goes up with 2 minutes to play:
If you watch Tony in the background, itās clear that he was frustrated.
You busted my bubble, lol. Yes Tony was upset. If he had missed he would have been very mad
I imagine the main reason that Virginia wonāt be pursuing Klintman any longer has to do with numbers. First, as I understand it, the staff isnāt interested in carrying a full complement of scholarship players. This for a variety of reasons, but mostly due to the changes that have been made to the transfer portal, and Coach Bennettās desire to reduce the number of players leaving Virginia. At least, that is what I have been led to believe. So, even if none of the fourth yearmen return for their bonus season next year, the squad still sits at eleven, not including walk-ons. As it stands now, at least one of them wonāt be back. Youāre right about there not being adequate playing time to satisfy Klintman, but more importantly, I donāt think there will be room on the roster for him, or anyone else.
They arenāt pursuing Klintmann because Tony likes Dunn.
Wonder how mad Tony was at Joe for missing an early clock layup the next possession leading to an easy three for Duke. I remember being very nervous at that moment.
Not the same situation, but we saw what happens if he misses - up 4 against Sparty the year UConn won it all, Joe rimmed out a three. I firmly believe we win that game going away if that shot falls.
Iād love to see us get back to having 30+ free throw attempts per gm.
I think Gardner is going to be a big help in the drawing fouls department. Iāve never looked at numbers, but Iām just going to guess weāve been on a terrible downward slide in that department since we lost Gill. He was the last dude who would routinely mix it up down low and knew how to bait guys into hacking him while going up. But that seems to be a big part of Gardnerās game.
KenPom numbers show 2014 was the high water mark, and last year and 2017 were the low water mark. Seems to be mostly a function of how our bigs play (Gill, but also Tobey and Darion) and to a lesser extent whether our perimeter guys were dribble drive threats who could absorb contact and therefore seek contact (Harris, Anderson, Dre).
The issue with Ty and Kyle is they didnāt really have āseek contactā frames or games, even though both were fairly effective (esp Ty) going to the rim.
Tangent here - but whatās up with the KenPom prohibition on Mark Jeromeās pods? Over reliance on stats without actually watching is bad, I agree, but ignoring the stats is ostrich-y. (Iām sure this is a bit of a ābitā, just always struck me as discordant).
Its more of an inside joke with the squad. Mainly me being stuck in the 80s and 90s and refusing to embrace technology ha
Ah, that makes more sense. Looking forward to the in season pods.
Me too man. Thanks
