Hoos Going Pro 2022-23 NBA Season

That’s the double edged sword for me. I want Dre to move on to a team where he can actually play and develop. I don’t think that happens on a team based around Trae Young. My other concern is I don’t want to see Dre get shipped off to the Wizards to clear salary.

The Hawks are clear on salary with Collins off the books, but they will need to make decisions on Bey, Murrary, and Okonkgu

Phoenix would definitely give him a chance at a ring, with a young core, and imagine they’ll be on national TV at least 25 times next year.

But what would they have left to deal for him, since I can’t imagine they’d move Booker, Durant or Ayton, and just traded for Beal?

Onyeka Okongwu was the 4th option on his high school team … not his AAU team but his public high school team.

Not to mention not sure what PHX salary cap situation is, but have to imagine they are up against the wall between Booker, KD, and Beal. Dre’s contact isn’t massive, but probably a tough one for the Suns to take on.

And like you said, not sure the Suns have anything of value to offer in a trade at this point. They don’t have a first round pick until 2030 I believe.

Ive seen Ayton and Cameron Payne for Hunter and Capella

F$ck I forgot Ayton is still on their roster. He’s definitely getting shipped out, guess they do have a piece to move.

He’s a negative asset and they have no picks to ship his deal. I’d be surprised if they are able to move on.

Suns owe something like 160 mil for 4 guys, which is almost the 2nd apron already. Plus they have to fill out the roster with guys who can eat minutes for the minimum and they have no picks to trade until forever (and they can’t even trade the furthest out picks if they’re over the 2nd apron). This is like the 2021/2022 Lakers and I don’t see how that works out at all.

Thanks for that. I knew they sunk a ton of money into that group given KDs injury history and Booker missing significant time last season you have to think they need reliable depth options that are nearly impossible to find given the cap issues you outline. Could be a situation where they have to eat a loss on Ayton just to get some warm bodies back to fill in the holes.

This new 2nd apron thing is proving to be interesting. We’ve a few teams dump salary to get under it in an effort to maintain some form of flexibility

DiVincenzo opting out in GWS. Gotta think the odds of Ty returning are rising

Well he’ll get plenty of run when CP3 is out for 18 games at a time

Exactly no way cp3 and steph play 82.

I don’t think the warriors care how much CP3 plays until March

I agree getting Cp3 to March has been the issue recently. But same can be said for Klay and Steph. Warriors used a deep bench to survive the regular season last year

Pros man…

Another Hoo was .03 seconds out of a spot at the Worlds - Walsh - but likely makes it for relays

Looks like Dre will be learning from Brey… rhyming and all…

Nah, CP3 always makes it to March. He (and Embiid) always get injured in March.

Edit: Meant May

From the Athletic article quoted, the Warriors are going to have three roster spots (planning to not carry the full 15 for tax purposes) and minimum contracts to offer, so it seems like they are going to see who they can get to come there. Ty mentioned as an option for that, alongside a bunch of other guards like Terence Davis, Dennis Smith Jr, Damion Lee.
