⛹️‍♂️ Jacob Cofie - Official Thread

Watch some tape of Isaiah Mobley at USC - I think this is the type of player Cofie can be.

Awesome. But Shaw really loves giving recruits the UVa bump. Seems to trust our staff’s evals and development.

On3 also debuted Sharma in their rankings at #149, which is solid high-3-star status around where we’ve gotten solid contributors over the years.

first third is about his HS coach, latter 2/3s are about his expectations for Cofie this season and where he needs to improve.

I really hope Tony promised Cofie the Hoos will play in Seattle a couple times while he’s at UVa.

Nice. Sounds like he’s a good candidate for Tony’s ‘continuous effort’ … effort. Hopefully we see him gel with the coaches and stay the course.

If nothing else, there’s one or two guaranteed trips to the Bay Area.

Quality of competition looks horrific but the handle and touch looks nice

He looks like Braxton Key- body Wise, but with good touch. We will have to see how he rebounds and defends.

He seems to have big, soft hands as a post player should, but then also has the off the dribble game, similar to Braxton Key. If he’s taller than 6’8 then that is special… Plus he is not skinny and looks to be able to put on weight easily.

I’m super intrigued on how we’ll use him. Get the vibe that he enjoys playing like a guard, but probably not quick or sound enough yet to play the 3 much. Might see a similar situation as Bond.

I imagine him being like Jake Groves- shooting from the perimeter and maybe a *tougher rebounder/inside player?

Seattle Prep is usually pretty good and churns out some D1 players, but not sure about this year yet…
