For the record, I don’t think Duke plays a run n gun style. Things are a little different with Scheyer at the helm.

Not sure if they are assuming duke because it isn’t Wisconsin (and if we are to believe 247 Wisconsin thinks UVA is completely out of hte picture and its either them or Duke)
You’d think there would be a crystal ball for Duke if some random poster “knows” that K2 is announcing tonight for Duke.

Until we put a guy into the NBA in under three seasons, we’re a longshot for any 5-star player with legit 1- or 2-and-done aspirations. It’s exactly what happened with Jarin this spring. And it’s my hesitancy for Kon now.

Yeah but Kon’s actually good though lol.
My copium is that Wisconsin believes it’s either them or Duke and since they got told no they assume Duke. I also still don’t trust Wisconsin sources. They were pretty horrendous on all 3 of BVP, Hauser, and even Leon Bond guesses (alll Marquette)
But if Jared McCain goes pro Kon could start right away at the 2. Big if.
I do believe the announcing tonight part. Lines up with everything else

It’s not like we’re UNC with top-15 guys regularly having to stay 3-4 years. Kind of ridiculous considering we’ve never had one (and Trey was 100x more impressive than a OAD), but yes I could see it as a legitimate criticism of UNC vis a vis the other factory programs.
His profile says he’s been a member of that community for three years. He has liked more than 1,000 posts, and his posts have been liked about 160 times. First post in that thread. Maybe he knows something, but you’d think he’d be more active in those threads if he did.

I know what you mean, but it annoys me that schools get credit for “putting” 5 stars in the NBA quickly. When bad teams get studs, they do the same thing (Georgia, UW-Milwaukee, etc).

I’d still think there would be something out of the Duke mods. Some overly optimistic smoke. There’s been none to date. Only way this poster is legit is if he’s a very close friend of Kon or his parents.

True. And Trey Murphy wasn’t even in the draft conversation before he set foot on Grounds. Nine months after doing so, he was a first-rounder.

The scenario where there is no crystal ball: A) Kon calls Scheyer to commit, but makes him promise not to leak it to recruiting bloggers because he has yet to inform the other staffs. B) the Duke staff uncharacteristically upholds their promise. C) he bangs out a few calls to the losing staffs. D) tweet/IG hits, sans edit. E) we are so F) ucked

Funny, I just got in from some appointments, saw that the Kon thread had 77 unread for me and decided he must have announced this morning. Started reading but after getting no news in the first 10, I said the hell with it and went to latest post. Still no news. Ha!
