I have heard nothing to indicate that pops is anything more than looking out for the best interests of his son. That’s not always the case obviously, but involvement and concern is not a bad thing.
I am a little uncomfortable talking about what a family member may or may not be doing to influence a recruits decision because who really knows for sure.
Well that’s good to hear and as lt should be. Would hope in the end any recruits parents would see the basketball and life development benefits of entrusting their son to Tony.
Sure appears to be a lot of negative vibes on this board. Remember who the reigning (still!) national champions are? Just saying…
Hmmmm, is that profile pic in reference to a certain other site’s signal for an impending commitment?
Did I understand correctly that TK would announce on his mother’s birthday? And that was some time in Aug/Sept? Am I correct?
Thats ben Gregg in september on his mom’s bday.
People on UVA and NOVA boards are theorizing Keels could commit on his own birthday which is end of August.
why do I know this…
Shhhhhh! Trying to smoke ZB out here!
Can you imagine what it would be like if we didn’t have that? Just tired of waiting for dead-ends and longshots to play out before we start getting positive news. Might be a good day for a championship re-watch. (What day isn’t?)
Deebo Coleman came up to the Charlotte area this weekend to play for Team CP3 in the Phenom Hoops event. They’ve got all the NC shoe teams pooled up going at it. If UVA really needs to evaluate him, this is the best look they’ll get.
Have you heard anything on how the staff feels with latest Keels chatter? If he does end up elsewhere, I really feel for Williford. Heard recently he’s worked on the kid harder than anyone he has ever recruited. And there is no doubt in my mind, Keels is the ‘21 target he was referencing on his show he contacted before talking to ‘22 kids.
Oh they still feel like they’re in it in a big way. Eh. I get what you’re saying but they recruit guys hard and don’t get them all the time. And with the dead period, I don’t know that you can say any college has spent much effort recruiting anyone this off-season.
Thanks, appreciate all the info. I know you mention reading signs so I had a feeling the must feel like they are in the game. The no other offers out continue to make me think there is more than meets the eye. Could be too they feel good on Murray and McKneely/ Taylor and that serves as Plan B. And honestly, Murray doesn’t feel like Plan B on the surface. Kid looks like he can play.
Oh Murray is legit. They just want a quality guard in '21. It’s easy for fans to say let’s push it back a year where it’s easier, but that only leads to making things harder in '23. The people with UVA ties I talk to are bullish on their chances with Murray, but I don’t think anybody maybe outside TB himself is that plugged into it. '22 players don’t figure that much into the equation yet.
Has there been anything to indicate how soon they may know with Murray?
Nope.
Ah Zirkle’s back stirring the pot. He knows stuff. But if you call him out he’ll pull the Uncle Leo act.
Thanks again. I should be outside listening to podcasts but the rain crashed my mowing party. So I spend time watching Hs player’s clips and my mind starts to wonder.
Lol. I am an old man. Easily confused. Focus on the positive.
But Brogdon stayed five years and this is one of the things being used against UVA. UVA never had a one and done. They never had a tu and done because their kids stay a long time tu develop. Duke put guys in the NBA quicker. The entire league is dominated by Duke players. I saw a game where their were six Duke players playing. Not on the bench or G League. But playing minutes on the court. Malcolm is a good player but he is not a star or Popular player. UVA continue tu go hard for you know who and they always compared him tu Malcolm. I personally think you know who dad is effing up but hey thats his family. I been stop wanting you know who and been lost interest in his recruitment. I dont want him.
