If Traudt looked at Tony’s history of playing bigs early and thought he was going to play early on, idk what to tell him. I assume if he’s going to leave it’s because of the girlfriend.

Not sure if it matters much, but his dad likes tons of UVA basketball tweets. Maybe he doesn’t have bad feelings and wants to leave, but sort of don’t think there would be UVA Twitter activity from the family if he isn’t playing and had already decided to leave. Idk.

Not completely ruling it out. Plenty of athletes have long distance relationships in college and some end up transferring to the same school. But I’m also not more worried about Traudt transferring than I was 3 days ago just because a radio host figured out two young people in a long distance relationship tend to miss each other

A key difference in this situation is that quote was just a message board rumor with no real reason to believe it was ever true. In this case, Tony basically said publicly he disagreed with the decision. I really doubt Tony lied.
Now that doesn’t mean traudt doesn’t regret it or isn’t frustrated, nor that Tony’s feedback didn’t influence the decision, but I think it’s unfair to blame Tony.
But yeah, traudt gone fishin.

but seriously, traudt will run this team next year and I hope Getter and J willi have continued to recruit the locker room. This would be the most disappointing transfer in our history given how we’ve seen IT shoot in preseason and warmups. It certainly doesn’t help the rumor mill if you watch his somewhat reserved nature on the bench, his lack of engagement with UVA content (reposting other programs more than ours) and his January RS interview compared to Leon’s.
But, that could be his personality and a clear baller/competitor just pissed he’s not playing but is gonna stay anyway idk. Hope he stays.

Can we not simply recruit the girlfriend to transfer to UVA? Is it an inappropriate use of booster funds to move a girlfriend cross country and pay out of state tuition? There’s no need to be passive here boosters!
