Pretty sure I read somewhere that Papi’s for sure not coming back. Can’t remember if it was a quote from him or a quote from someone who would know about him though.
Nick Jackson did both and we didn’t hear that much about it either.
You must be new here
His strategy is horrible. Or rather there isn’t a coherent one. Follow along this spring and you’ll see
Tyson and PJ Hall would start for us.
Our guard/wing usage is over 90% only if they group by height
Yea pretty good evidence Brownell knows how to use his guys. Problem is he can’t figure out how to get more than 1-2 legit players every 4 years
Are they calling Gardner and BVP wings? I guess they’d be poor wings in the NBA. Gardner’s as much of a wing as 6’5” PJ Tucker though.
They must be. Not sure how else they get to >90% usage
Greg Buckner is the only really good player I can remember from the Barnes era, and not I’m sure how highly recruited he was out of high school. You had Horace Grant, Elden Campbell, Dale Davis before him, in the Cliff Ellis era, I think. There have been some good players – but never really any of the top players coming out of high school. My point is just that it’s a tough school to recruit for basketball.
In some respects, Brownell has followed the Bennett model, albeit less successfully: He’s been pretty good at finding players under the radar who turn in solid college careers.
The “at somewhere else” qualifier is curious. By all indications, Armaan loves Virginia. (His mom certainly does.) But you never know.
He wouldn’t be able to transfer again and play somewhere right? He’s had his one transfer or does that reset if he leaves as a grad transfer?
Chris Whitney and Sharone Wright as well under Ellis. And we can take it way back to Tree Rollins aptly named
Yes. Grad transfers are free to be immediately eligible.
Word on the street is that he lost to many credits to transfer the last time.
edit Armaan Franklin is him.
Roger that, wasn’t sure if that carried over after a previous transfer.
Are we talking Armaan? I recall hearing he needed another semester, hence part of my confidence that he’d return. Not sure if that’s changed.
Eh. I think it’s just boiler plate. I’m not reading much into it as this stage. Hope he comes back.
