Right. For me, the Duke story was they played really dominant defense on our struggling offense and we played dominant (but slightly less dominant) defense on their good and finally gelling offense.
Oh, I totally agree. I’m worried about an L, too, but my initial instinct is Furman was one of the better 12/13s we could’ve gotten and I still think that.

Kadin is solid to good on the perimeter on defense with his length he can disrupt. But like most things with Kadin it comes down to where is his head at, and can he avoid being a giraffe. When he’s under control and flowing he’s a true disrupter out there. With BVP you had a stead hand who could get beat off the dribble or on a blow by, but generally speaking he’d always put himself in the best position to be successful.
The concern I have, is can Kadin do his thing and avoid the silly fouls on the hedge as you reference. The biggest lost with BVP out is depth. Kadin in early foul trouble leaves the Hoos with limited options with Papi having physical limitations and Dunn being a near liability on offense.

The good thing is Dunn’s liability on offense only makes him infinitesimally worse than Caffaro and Shedrick on that end. The issue is when we need him at the 3 or 4 where we have guys who actually do score

He might start since we tend to have inertia in our starting lineup but I think in general versus their starters we should have
Gardner on Slawson
Shedrick on Hien
Or
Dunn on Slawson
Gardner on Hien
When Slawson is at the 5 and their Ben Vanderwhatever is at the 4, we can go with Taine or Franklin at the 4 and Gardner at the 5 or we can go with Dunn and Gardner at the 4 and 5.

Same I feel oddly confident about Thursday’s game. I love the matchup with Furman, and a lot of that has to do with what I saw during the ACCT. The UNC and Clemson games the Hoos offense was gelling well and the most active I’ve seen the Blocker Mover in years. On the defensive side of the ball the Packline looked like vintage iterations of it. Even against Duke as @haney and others have said the Hoos ground a very hot Duke team to a halt. They just couldn’t overcome Dukes size and athleticism to get points to support the defense and even with that it was a 4 point game with 1 min to go.
If the Hoos come out on Thursday like they did against Clemson, Furman will fold. Their offense cannot score on a defense that is that aggressive and disruptive and Furman’s defense wants no part of playing 28 secs of avoiding screens and chasing.

Is it worth listening to? Used to listen to every episode but seems like Matt is the only one who hasn’t changed his on air persona since they got big
The South region is at the very beginning. I think I’d just listen to the 5 minutes or so on our little Orlando pod (SDSU/Charleston/us/Furman).

Tbh I think this is what happens for the most part. Media members pick the top teams from the conferences they’ve covered the most to go far and pick upsets for the top teams from conferences they haven’t seen as much

Agreed on Dunn not being worse than Caffaro on offense but I think Shed’s positive effect on the offense is significantly more than Dunn. Shed is low usage, but he’s the interior version of a good spot-up shooter, where he can make the perimeter guys more effective by forcing the defense to account for his rim threat. I don’t think Dunn quite has that effect yet
