🙄 No Holds Barred Thread - A Haney/DavetheWave Production

If I need a spoon it’s not a milkshake haha. If they called it ice cream zero issues.

Agree with you on McD shakes. A milkshake that does not melt when left un refrigerated is no shake at all. And honestly a little worrying. Plus, they aren’t good.

Except Shamrock shakes which are grandfathered in.

Yup I don’t know why but I’ll get a Shamrock shake every year. Only time I ever consider MCDs for a shake

Was Keith Van Horn a stretch 4?

I have an awesome Keith Van Horn story from when I worked the Ric Majerus camp in Utah before my last year. I can’t tell it now, but I will this weekend at some slow point during the discourse on LRA. He was elite, even as a 17 year old playing with college upperclassman.

Reffed him is high school summer league I think… our college team played against his in a scrimmage.
Definitely a stretch 4 in high school too

The MOST important type of player we need to pick up by next year as the lead guard and need to regularly recruit every 2 years…I know people will say that it’s difficult to land a Ty Jerome type or find them, but to that I would name other examples that show they exist…

Nait George- Georgia Tech
Austin (Yellow Mamba)- Oklahoma
Cameron ???- UConn 2023-2024.

Update:

London Perrantes comparison:

  • Hepburn- Louisville 2024/2025.

Love this system. Also fun to watch Huff in it.

“Huff ran faster than everyone else” was credibly said!

Interesting that aspect about playing deep rotation lines so when players are out there - full gas running.

Could translate to college in this new era - gets more PT to kids that you are trying to retain/-re-recruit each week/season!

Feels like the best programs this year (Auburn, Duke, Iowa State to name a few that I’ve noticed) have lots of playable depth that keeps their best guys fresher. For example, likely NPOY Johni Broome plays 27 MPG which would only be third most on our team.

Not disagreeing with your point, but I would argue that playing 10 - 12 deep is more feasible in the NBA because you’re talking about professionals with professional skills.

Trying to go that deep at the NCAA level could be a bit tricky because there will be a skill drop off at some point.

True. But the upside of having that slightly lesser talent going full throttle for short bursts can wear down other teams or create opportunities for spurts.

This was fascinating!

I loved the movement in that offense - constant motion and a stunning variety of screens and ghost screens/flipped screens - some stuff I’d never seen before. Very cool find.

I have a new favorite head coaching candidate (I know, wrong thread).
