100% true, but if they are going to go down and miss the tourney I rather them go down swinging against Baylor Houston Michigan in the Non-Con. When the dust settles, there wonât be any questions of what the team is or where it stands.
No way ⌠you are saying losses to those 3 are better than losses to JMU and Navy???
But if your team wins and no one is there to see it, does it make a sound in the woods? Or something like that
Not having Bennett is a stretch in your example in my opinion. In any position/role you will have to do things that you donât want to do, even as a Head basketball coach at a top-ish program. In his most recent interview he says that teams recruit against him all of the time, maybe a better way to counteract that is more exposure/presenting a different message to those people that we are trying to recruit. Not to become Mr. Scrooge, or some other curmudgeon like a Roach K that is so far removed from society that they actually have *little voice or agency in the matter of expressing who you are. Not to say that Tony is a scrooge per se, but some of his practices are borderlineâŚRegarding Roach K- he DEFINITELY didnât like doing interviews, as he never did them during the halftimes of games, and also was a very awkward interview in general, so what did he do? He had someone else do his interviews, had someone else build up the dook social media and marketing to the point that theyâre a big fucking pain in the ass, but they are second to none in that self-promotion/lead generation machine to where their new head coach has a plug and play recruiting system that was already built for him.
Competitive advantage? That competitive advantage will be gone shortly after the first couple of games in the season, at which point the *good teams will have video by the time we play them anyways. Besides that we have played the *same style mostly since Tony has arrived and it still takes the other team to come to work and beat us in all facets of the game. As another example- we *know that UNC is going to feast on running the ball and playing fast pace, yet we still need to go out there and beat them- there really hasnât been any surprises. The one wrinkle they had last year was having a Brady Manek player at the 4 spot, which they *may or *may/not have this year. In other words itâs not a big mystery to solve and doesnât increase/decrease their competitive advantage when we play them.
Yeah I think that when we *donât have as good of an offensive team that the reason that we work the clock much more is because we *hope that the other team is less âcontinuousâ defensively and they have break downs such as not cutting through screens, or leaving Beekman open for game winning 3âs etc.
-
Get more size at the 3 and maybe 4- the *only way that could happen is if we incorporate Ryan Dunn and Bond into the 3 spot as theyâre both 6â5-6â8 = not liklely.
-
More shooting from 1-4: I hope with the improvement of Reece, Taine, or Armaan that would be big. Iâm hoping McKneely is the real deal as well = Atleast *ONE of these 4 contributing I would say is *likely.
-
Keep enough experience from the defensive gains from last year- I would say this is likely as I donât think ANY of them were happy with how last year ended and will be busing their assâŚWith that said we *hope that some of the new players are able to contribute and learn on the job as well, and by the end of the year are adjusted = Likely.
Yes itâs great that Tony is firing back as heâs a competitive individualâŚso then to *all of our points why doesnât he see the competitive advantage in more exposure for the program Why doesnât he want to have THE BEST social media department, THE BEST practice videos, THE BEST fan engagement etcâŚanyways horse is dead at this point.

Check this out: a blast from our recruiting past now coaching the G League Knicks. I didnât even know he was in coaching. Good for him.
Wow thatâs crazy. And it looks like heâs doing well for himself if heâs the Gleague HC. Remember hanging with him at the Wake game during an unofficial⌠we were kids thenâŚ
It was definitely the wrong move to go straight to the NBA⌠he shouldâve gone to college. Too raw.
yup heâs one of the prime examples of why thereâs a one and done. Kwame Brown being the poster child.
Darko Milicic too. LOL!
Hey, DeSagana got to a 3rd contract though. $47 mil over 12 seasons isnât half bad.
Thatâs crazy but a very valid point. It worked out for him alright I guess.
Can you imagine if he was actually a seasoned player out of college?
