All these cats have a broad range. They played a jam session on the second day of the program and played some bossa nova, but also Superstitionâwhich was a showstopper. Wade had some fun with his pedals for that 70âs funk on that one.

My wife and I stumbled upon the movie Whiplash last night. Luckily your conductor was more easygoing than the guy in the movie. I donât think you would have survived a mistake like that.

During the audition weekend at Eastman, the admissions staff spend a good half hour telling all of the parents that the curriculum is NOT like Whiplash.
Agree with Jazz, it doesnât matter whether itâs music, sports, or any other vocation, psychological manipulation is never OK.

My favorite thing to do in NYC is to sit in Washington Square Park listening to any jazz trio/quartet/quintet just play and improvise. Always put money in the hat.

Just here for the weekend with the wife. Staying in the Village this time. Found Little Island Park by accident. A $260 million park built on piles on top of the river. Amazing. NYC doesnât do anything half-ass. Except this yearâs baseball.

This is my favorite thing about Jazz. The improvisation is just so cool and the musicians are so good that it doesnât phase them at all. They read each other and react to certain cues. Its really amazing.
