Many many meals before games across the street at U-Hall. Guess Iām not a youngin, huh?
I agree, Vietnamese coffee is always a great pick. I especially like the authentic ones. I had the chance to try CĆ PhĆŖ in Vietnam when I traveled there through https://gowithguide.com/vietnam, and it was exactly that strong and sweet style, often with condensed milk, that makes it such a unique caffeine experience.
Bot Travel log lra is back!!
I, too, enjoy unique caffeine experiences.
Anyone have suggestions for dinner tonight near the Courtyard Marriott downtown for 3 older kids who donāt agree on any food?
Dairy Market is a little bit of a walk but will give everyone the option to do something different.
I like Guajiros and itās close to you, but might not be varied enough to make all the kids happy.
Maybe Downtown mall and check out Whiskey Jar or Millers or citizen burger?
Itās a chain, but Mellow Mushroom is steps away, and has more than just pizza on the menu.
If youāre talking about that Marriott thatās across from the Downtown mall Iād just go down there and find a spot. Several options including a few that wonāt break the bank like some of the Main Street options.
But Iām sure @ekandado knows a few hidden gems.
Courtyard is the one thatās near the Corner and hospital, Residence Inn is the one closer to the Downtown Mall. But Mall is very easily walkable from the Courtyard too.
While @haney enjoys strong and sweet the condensed milk can really mess up his LRA flow so maybe a dsclaimer next time thanks
Oakhart Social is a block or so away if you can get a reservation. Pizza, fried chicken, and fancy fish and meat dishes as well.
The one near the hospital⦠that is where one of my sonās whole soccer teams is staying.
Appreciate the clarification @AdventiveQuasar I never remember which one is which. Youāre closer to the corner then. Thereās a Devils Backbone outpost just down the street from there. Canāt go wrong with a burger from Boylan or those chicken nugget things I lived off them last season during the SMU game.
Feel like The Virginian has a lot of standard options (grilled cheese, chicken tenders, mac nācheese, sandwiches, burgers) and great people watching plus nostalgia. Beer is always cold.
That or Boylan would be my go to (although Boylan food has been really bad the last couple of times Iāve been).
Boylan was packed⦠Iām sitting in Mellow Mushroom and it is dead.
That place used to be hopping but every time I pop in over the last 3 or 4 yrs itās empty
Iām getting to the age now where dead restaurants arenāt a bad thing ![]()
Honestly ever since Covid the crowds at Mellow Mushroom have been subdued.
Sitting at Citizen Burger outside being serenaded by live classical music. Beautiful night.
