New spot called Maggie’s Midtown. Can’t give away all its secrets but it’s a partnership that includes Chef Tarik from Smyrna and they are bringing a traditional British Sunday Roast to Cville.

Hitting The Jervey tomorrow for soft opening. Andy McClure’s new steakhouse in Belmont across the street from Mas. Will report back.

Belle and the Foccocia spot Nextdoor to Belle as well.

Plus I think he has Citizen’s in Richmond and Nova as well but I can’t keep track.

Oh didn’t know he was Belle and Ciaccia too. Love both those places (I live in Belmont). Exciting!

Citizen Burger in Clarendon closed pre-pandemic. I don’t think he has any other outposts up here.

Disclaimer that I’m usually not a fan of bringing dogs indoors to restaurants/breweries, but we are meeting up with family in Charlottesville (midway point for most) the Friday after Thanksgiving. We will have our dog in tow as traveling from the in-laws in NC and won’t have time to drop him in Richmond…

Any recommendations on breweries / wineries that allow dogs indoors or have heated patios?

Not an ideal situation but trying to make the best of it. Doesn’t have to be good beer/wine, more so the right space.

I think the Three Notch’d (the one in IX) patio gets tented off when it’s cold out, so that would be dog-friendly (can’t bring inside though).

I think the places that don’t have food would allow it: Decipher, Rockfish (on Preston, not on DTM). They both came up here: Breweries that allow dogs inside? : r/Charlottesville

That thread also flags Basic City in Waynesboro and Patch in Gordonsville if going outside Cville is doable.

I personally do not enjoy Pro Re Nata in Crozet but apparently dog-friendly too.

Big chunks of Pro Re Nata are outdoors with seating.

Kardinall Hall works well, thought not an actual brewery

I wasn’t sure how warm it would be on the Kardinal Hall patio, but they have an enclosure there too that should help.

When i was at Citizen Burger (i know it is not a brewery)… there were 2-dogs at the table next to us outside…

Picture i took so my daughter could see…

I hope that plastic cup at the foot of the table was a doggy lager. :dog: :beer_mug:

You could always drop the dog off at the local animal shelter and swap it for a cat

Chris is awesome. I’m a sucker for the caramel bun, but everything is good (and not a ton of places to get LatAm baked goods around)

Pop up at JBird on Sunday too: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQy7RRfjeWf/?igsh=b3FiZ3JiZnE2Y3hi

Hogwaller once had a BLT using bread she baked from spent grain and it was amazing.

I went to Dr Ho’s Pizza on Friday night before the NC Central game… very good!

I was just not expecting Dr Ho to be really named Horace and not be a doctor.
