It was awesome. Everybody was happy and we had lots of sharing plates which was perfect.
The local was pretty packed but we got there an hour and a half early and the southern crescent had a guy on the keyboards playing dr. John and other New Orleans style music and that was also quite nice.
Belmont is pretty quaint these days and feels a bit like an escape from downtown mall/corner on a Big weekend with kids in town.
Couldnāt have asked for a nicer evening and appreciate the good advice. I also have a few more places to go for next time.
We were at the Local on the Sunday following the VPI&SU game in Hooville (not that I went to the game or anything Not surprisingly it was very quiet, easy parking. Iād never been to that little part of town - pretty neat little neighborhood with several places to eat and drink.
Used to live on Altavista Ave, then about a block from Clark Elementaryā¦brain dumping the street right now though. Over Thanksgiving my mom showed me a pic of a house not too far from our old place on the market for $700K. I about fell off my chair
A friend of the familiy was the principal at Clark for a long time and I volunteered there several times in middle school know the area well. Lol a 700k home in Belmontā¦

Vivace is Ivy Road, yes. Good Sport is in The Forum which is the new Darden Hotel. There is also a more upscale restaurant in that same hotel called Birch and Bloom.
Ok, this is probably heresy born from familiarity, but I think Vivace is only good. It nails the upscale family Italian thing and Iāve never eaten there and been disappointed. But Iāve also never eaten there and afterwards thought āwow, that was amazingā. āGoodā, sure. āExcellentā, no.
