Ya, all the offensive numbers are irrelevant here. Of course, their offensive rating is going to be strong because that is what they do…a deliberate game plan to win their games almost solely on their offensive strength. Defense is their weakness and I do not think even Cal would argue that point. Defense is the criticism. Unless you think they are unbeatable in every aspect of their game.
Edit. BTW, Dave, I like Kentucky a LOT; I think they are the most fun to watch in college basketball. I just think their weakness is defense, and I am not trying to be a contrarian.

Yeah, they’ve been bad at defense. I guess here are the “good enough” hopes:
- they’ll be better with all their bigs back (maybe, but it didn’t really get better post Bradshaw or Onyenso, but maybe it gets slowly better with Big Z).
- Justin Edwards has been a bit lost, but maybe starts picking it up … (
) - They’re young and athletic and will pick it up in March (also shrug – I know defense gets better in general in the tourney, but not sure if there’s any data to back up this assertion)

ElMarko Jackson looks pretty bad. Not very fluid mover and really bad 3pt shooter. Also not really a pg even though he kinda forces himself to be.
Johnny Furphy being a stud this year isn’t something I saw coming when I watched him over the summer. Then again his whole team had the same haircut so not for sure I was watching the right guy.
