Last thing I’ll say on this is that, for now, Creighton has a top 15-ish roster coming back. If internet rumors are true, then they’re losing 2 more guys. But sometimes internet rumors are true, and sometimes they’re not.

I know this is the Outside UVA Recruiting thread, but never before have I seen more discussion and analyzation about Creighton basketball than on this board lol. Maybe not even from Creighton fans.
We’ll be fine next year. Might be some growing pains while our roster gets to know each other but I think we make the tourney and set up to have a top 10 team in 2024. More importantly though, Creighton will also probably be ok too. Lots of attrition but they’re bringing in talent, and McDermott while an A-hole is a pretty good coach.

I frankly think we need a specific Creighton thread, we can have in game chats, track Traudts playtime and stats, it would definitely be healthy for all involved.

I unironically agree. I love college hoops and it’s fun to have another reason to pay attention to another good team in a fun league.

Hating other teams is just as fun as liking a team. I’ll forever miss Coach K for this reason.

I’m looking forward to next year personally. I expect we’ll be a “good” team. Maybe not polished, not without flaws…but certainly competitive.
And DIFFERENT. The basic flavor of the team was well-baked for several years. No shade to the old ways, but I’m excited to try a new flavor and I’m cool if we don’t win the conference.

Huh? Brogdon, Gill - full time starters and Tobey and Nolte part time starters. On the Elite 8 team
The 2017 team won a game in the NCAAT. Pretty sure they beat Kevin Keatts, then lost to — got pummeled by — Mike White and Florida.
Shayok might have played his best game in a UVa uni on that day in Orlando.

I guess different strokes for different folks. I’m sure there are plenty Hoo fans who couldn’t care less how Hoos do after they leave if they didn’t maximize their performance at UVA.
Guys like Murphy, Anderson, Beekman if he leaves, etc.
I cheer for Brogdon and Hauser because they play for the Celtics - not because they played for UVA … just like I cheered against Hunter in the 1st round.
Murphy? Nice and all but not really a Hoo who did what he arrived at Charlottesville to do. Find it funny that he bagged on fans for saying he wasn’t ready for the draft… or that he shouldn’t go early. He obviously didn’t understand that fans just wanted him to keep his word and be at UVA 2 years knowing he would be much more productive his 2nd year whether he redshirted or not. Again…Hoo cares how well he does in NO when he didn’t even make 3rd team All ACC … I know - wonky Covid year. And it was a terrible atmosphere year from an arena standpoint - all the more reason to play a 2nd year and get the full experience. Yes I know he’s likely the 2nd UVA player (Hunter) to leave early this century to get that full 2nd NBA contract. Other 2 that got one stayed a long time at UVA - Brogdon and Harris.
For me the best thing about any Hoos doing well in the NBA is it likely meant there’s a good chance they were really good - all conference level players in college at UVA.
Harris, Brogdon, Hunter, really good in college and good in pros.
Gill, Huff, Jerome, Hauser - really good in college and still in the NBA - and yes I’ll take those 3 of those 4 over Anderson and Murphy all day long… Hauser only a year - but he only had a year of eligibility.
True - I guess the drubbing by Florida wiped the memory in my mind of the Shayok game.
Also watched every minute available of the Spain trip and stupidly got hyped watching Nichols dominate… ughhhh

You mention “a lot of people think like you” and don’t respect players that left after a couple of seasons because it wasn’t a full 4 seasons at UVA (paraphrasing here), but you SHOULD be happy that they came here in the first place and that they will always be associated with The University and that they very much represent UVA- some more vocally than others like Trey Murphy!
