Outside UVa Recruiting

Thanks – nothing specific in mind, tbh, just feeling my way around the LRA etiquette.

No worries… I actually changed the title at some point from “Outside UVa ACC Recruiting” to its current name because it started expanding outside of just the ACC. I really like how dynamic this platform is that you can do that.

Nothings changed about Tech recruiting they just had to hire a kid’s Hs coach to get their top guy. They still need Clowney or a good big otherwise this is still a middle of the pack ACC class

My least popular (but most correct) UVa hoops opinion: good VPI hoops is good for UVa hoops. Great VPI hoops might (might) be an issue, but I’m more worried about the risk of them being bad than the risk of them being great. Them being great is a low risk…

Ritchie McKay keeps punching above Liberty’s weight in recruiting. Porter is the PG from Kentucky that visited UVA in June.

Tech will never be great in basketball. That is simply not a concern I have or will ever have. Their fans act like they already are though based off zero on court accomplishments though

Agree, which is why we should root for them to be good.

Really wish McKay would get poached by a bigger program.

I liked this kid! He gave me Kihei scrappiness vibes.

I’m somewhat with you. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t care who Duke and UNC get, so I’m certainly not losing any sleep on having to compete with whomever VT adds to their roster. Perfectly content to take ours and play theirs, no matter who it is, anywhere in the country. If anything the ACC needs an infusion of talent, top to bottom. It feels like the conference is currently living too much off its reputation of the past, all the while there’s a real chance that in coming years, you no longer see the ACC in the conversation as the top conference in college basketball. So if VT is one of those teams that helps to extend the depth and quality for the benefit of the ACC, so be it.

I can think of 14 other ACC teams I’d prefer to be good before Tech.

Winning 1/20 of our football matchups does not put me in any kind of mood to ever drop a b-ball game to them.

Just wish he’d go to a different school…literally any other school.

With all due respect, sir, I will never root for the Hokies under any circumstances. The Hokies could be matched against the forces of satan (duke) and I would still not be able to root for them.

Funny how that breaks down among the fan base. My three most hated ACC teams are Tech football, Duke basketball, and Duke lacrosse. I’d say in most non-football sports I dislike Duke more than VT.
