If we got Passamore before the settlement it would help with the potential year two depth problem. Ugonna (if we get him) has two years?

The silver lining of all of this is the roster seems to be shaping up into one that has potential for year one. 3-4 guys who have potential to flirt with NBA minutes is my rule of thumb for a team that can win a game in the tournament. Less of those guys you need really good role players and great roster construction. More and you might be able to get by on talent alone.
I think we maybe have 2.5 if the German player commits. We are getting there. Disclaimer, a lot depends on chemistry too (see Miami this past year). I am not saying 3-4 of those players guarantees anything.

Don’t know if you watched Black Doves, but there’s a great exchange when the spy chief asks Kiera Knightly if she also speaks German in addition to her other foreign languages. Knightly says “Only conversationally,” to which the spy chief responds, “Ah yes, the famously conversational Germans.”

Gertrude (caveat is waiting to see if he is close to 100% after the rehab); the German (who based on these reports already has some NBA eyes on him); and my .5 is hedging on either Chance being a truly prolific scorer like a Carsen Edwards was at Purdue OR Lewis being someone who can level up and demonstrate he can produce at the ACC level the way he did at Toledo. My math is based some on potential so not saying Mallory would be able to produce Edwards level performance this year (but to be included I am assuming he can give us something in point production this year).
All that to say I still think we are one short. If we get Passmore (or another) I will really start thinking we are on to something.

This may be a hot take but after watching more film the other day, I like Dallin Hall’s prospects of making an NBA roster at some point. Don’t think people fully realize how good he is. And I think his game translates very well to the league. Won’t get drafted but I can see him playing himself up from the G League.

I like hearing that. I am probably underestimating him a bit. Looks like a good athlete and facilitator. Love the thought that he may have that g-league/journeyman type talent.

He plays like Joe Harris if Joe Harris was a PG, if that makes any sense. Big, physical, way more of an athlete than he gets credit for, off the charts BB IQ, leader, good defender on and off ball, etc.

Just finished up a patient 10 min ago who’s a big BYU fan and said Hall was a great pick up for us, and in his opinion, should have started for BYU this year.
