Don’t give up, don’t ever give up!

In contact. Like most VA kids, he’s barely played this summer though. Nothing to evaluate.

Iv’e heard of a couple bball recruits doing it. Isaac Traudt for one toured Minnesota while in the area for an AAU event. Good question though. Definitely more a thing for football recruits. My only guess is that bball visits are less about seeing the campuses and facilities. Smaller team, more personalized recruiting.

I feel like football recruitments tend to be a bit more localized too so it’s easier to make the trip

Could be, but as far as UVA is concerned it’s been a national thing.

We’ve had local recruits we wanted make visits to Stanford and Michigan.

And we’ve had guys come from Washington, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, and another planning on visiting from Texas. But we’ve also had more local visits as well from North Carolina and Virginia.

And to HGN’s point, on facilities, it’s a lot easier to see those football facilities (stadiums, practice areas, etc) on your own just walking around. So you can Skype or Face Time with a coach while you’re walking around on your own and still get done a lot of what you’d need to do.

Is there anything on which you’re basing this statement? From what I’ve seen, there are no reasons for either optimism or pessimism. He’s a player to whom Coach Bennett has extended an offer, and Virginia is one of three schools he is considering. Not a whole lot more is out there that I have been able to learn.

Graham to MD help with Murray?

Nah Stanford is the threat here

no, Maryland still has 2 spots to use for their '21 class and need another guard.

@VB2CAhoo has dual allegiances. He’s secretly already thinking up cool Isa-Taine theme signs for midnight madness '21.

haha. don’t worry tho, I’m rooting for the Hoos to get Murray. Stanford is in a good spot with some other guys

I’ve seen speculation again Justin Taylor could potentially reclass back to ‘21. If Murray and Keels go elsewhere, it would be a great additional option if it’s true.

First rule of fight club…

Another mailbag from Corey. To summarize, still Duke and Nova for Keels, IU for Kaufman with UNC surging, no mention for Efton Reid, lists Pitt OSU Mich.

Corey seems like a real fuckstick

Shooting the messenger a bit, Mr. Nellys – but I feel ya.

Follow any of them long enough and you’ll realize how often they contradict themselves. They’re absolutely sure of their intel, no matter what it was the week prior. The best ones balance their coverage, the worst ones pander. It’s a hard job for sure, but I had the same reaction you did.

Part of a Brian Snow article on Keels:

Name: Trevor Keels

247 Composite Ranking: No. 16 overall

Schools Involved: Duke, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, Villanova, Virginia

Current Buzz: Villanova

Confidence Level: Medium

There might not be a more competitive recruitment in the entire country than the one going on right now with Keels. A highly productive player on the court who projects to be around college for a few years combined with being a kid who is tremendous off the floor as well, basically every school is trying to get involved with Keels and land his signature.

Right now, Villanova and Duke are the two programs with the most buzz, but Villanova still seems to have the slightest of edges here. The Wildcats have been involved with Keels for as long as anybody, and Jay Wright has had a lot of success recruiting in the DMV area.

Duke is obviously Duke, and they are right there as well. Add in Michigan making a move, Louisville trying hard, and challenges from Virginia and North Carolina, and this won’t be easy.

Right now Keels is talking about potentially waiting until the spring, but keep a close eye on Villanova and Duke if things do end before that.

If keels and Murray goes elsewhere I am 100% okay with Chris Bunch being our big guard commit and an offer also going out to Isaac McKneely

Kid is a guard version of hunter (I view hunter as a forward who can play guard)

He’s got the Hunter between the legs, no dribble.
