Recruiting Rundown 8/17

Somewhat of a shocker. Duke wasn’t even considered in the top 3 for Banchero and I believe there was a crystal ball pick for Tennessee. The rich get richer

New here and enjoy the info and observations quite a bit, so thanks.

I live in Seattle down the street from O’Dea where Banchero plays. Can’t claim any insider info, though could ask some friends, but the smoke was definitely Tennessee (Chandler), Washington (becoming more noted for local and West Coast OADs) and Kentucky.

The Brotherhood (Fund) strikes again.

Maybe this helps with Reid? Coleman and Mark Williams must be becoming more aware of being recruited over as well, maybe?

There’s a whole series of these tweets. Very Dukie

When I’m on a roadtrip and I stop at a gas station to use the bathroom for 5 minutes, do I consider everyone else in the bathroom at that time a part of my Brotherhood? No.

“Didn’t see this coming.” – Uhhhhh, okay. Sad reality is that Puke is to CBB as Harvard is to college – the experience (or education) you receive is probably pretty good (but not necessarily the best), but the pedigree you get at both will last a lifetime. Not fair. Just is. Simply cannot fault a Top 5 guy for making this call. That said, looking forward to our guys figuring out how to shut him down for an evening. Good luck, Mr. Banchero. And, GO HOOS!!!

Just texted a good friend of mine whose son plays lacrosse for O’Dea and knows him. Said Banchero thought our offense was too disciplined and methodical.

No surprise, just fyi…

I didn’t see it coming because…no one did.
Leads were Tennessee, Kentucky, and Washington. Duke has hardly been mentioned.

They did try to get involved last summer. Another one of these deals where in the past they’d throw out offers and we’d have to pretend it’s a real thing all along. lol

Totally understand, as concerns the recruiting rumor mill. Guess the point I was trying to make is that if Puke is sitting at the table, then Puke getting the kid should never be a surprise.

Not an easier dislike in sports than those guys.

Vanderbilt baseball is up there for me but not even then or VPI football can top the fake brotherhood.

The Banchero family’s new house, fairly recently vacated.

Not to get off topic, but I feel like Vandy would be much more tolerable if they just got rid of the damn Whistler. Carson Fulmer is still a D-bag though.

Most definitely. But ESPN has now sort of adopted them as The team. So they get the Duke hoops style treatment.

Some of the other things that bristle me…

They have a fake Green Monster in LF (theirs is black).

Their black unis with gold stripes. They look like pajamas.

ESPN’s incessant hype about their pitching lab as if no one else in college baseball has one or a history of pitching success in college baseball.

And the number one thing besides The Whistler, the way all their players do an exaggerated stomp on home plate when scoring a run.

Making Carson Fulmer cry in 2015 was really sweet. That guy was a complete d-bag.

Looks like Indiana actually didn’t offer before since he just announced it today.

At this point it’s clear UVA will never have another commitment and we are going to have to shut down the program after the 2021-3 fourpeat run

Banchero’s recruitment by Duke is similar to Zion’ They seemed to have come out of nowhere and suddenly end up at Duke. Just saying, nice home coming?

According to a Corey Evans (our favorite!) tweet/thread, Banchero and Keels just followed each other on the ‘Gram.
