⛹️‍♂️ Ryan Dunn - Official Thread

For anyone on Xaivian Lee watch (so nobody), he just dropped 33 against Harvard, on 8-11 from 2, and 5-11 from 3. Princeton keeps this up, and there’s an at large possibility. Long shot, but a possibility.

Was looking at Bliss recruiting stuff (as I do when current wahoo hoops is a bummer), and that transitioned into me looking back at Dunn perk stuff, and I gotta say, this take holds up.

Also, shoulda known Lee was gonna be a stud. Maybe we can get a transfer from him if he decides he doesn’t want to be a nerd anymore.

Bonus Bliss take, based on memory: he can get into the lane, and while I think he’s a good perimeter shooter, for some reason, he never shot it at volume at the AAU level

Cause he played on the ball/dominated the ball over boogie fland. Was driving, creating, and posting up. Not off ball standing in the corner or running off a screen.

Its like that somali pirate movie meme where Bliss stared at Boogie and was like “Im the point guard now”. was on NY Rens the aau season before.

Was just gonna say … could blame Boogie. Where’d he wind up?

Well, that means the Calipari renaissance will last only one season.

Also, the boogie / Bliss dynamic kinda flipped when Boogie was dinged up. Made them eminently more watchable (and better)

I remember watching them play together in the Peach Jam. Boogie shooting from 30 ft and Bliss creating and scoring around the basket. Bliss was the reason they won the games they did. He just produces

First in an occasional, or maybe only once, who knows, series: Where do various mock drafts / big boards have RD?

Note: none of this matters. The only thing that really matters is where you, in your heart, think he will go (or not go). The numbers below are all meaningless. But, anyway, for no reason in particular, here’s what the websites say:

  • Athletic - Dec 6, #10
  • ESPN - Jan 11, #16
  • Bleacher Report - Jan 19, #25
  • SB Nation - Jan 18, #21
  • NBA Draft Room - Jan 20, #12
  • Yahoo - Jan 22, Not in first round
  • NBADraftNet - Jan 16, #27
  • Yardbarker - Jan 22, #16
  • HoopsHype (aggregate) - Jan 8, #19

That’s the “see ya!” range.

Yeah, if those hold up. Most likely

The Ringer posted its first draft board and mock draft this morning. Kevin O’Connor has Ryan Dunn at 14 on his board and going with the 13th pick to OKC in a (mostly-meaningless) mock draft.

It’s only 30 players, so no Reece, but it’s another high first-round grade for Dunn.

Off topic, but not sure what’s changed about Edey’s game to vault him from being considered an end of the 2nd round caliber prospect to all of a sudden being a fringe lottery pick in O’Connor’s mind. His stat line is a near mirror to last season’s and from what I’ve seen from him he’s basically the exact same player. Scouts have known what he will and will not be able to do at the NBA level for at least two years now.

From what I’ve read, his mobility is way up on the defensive end, which has made him playable in the modern NBA. I watched their game against Iowa this weekend and he seemed quicker

Would be one of those cases where coming back worked out big time. Assumes he would not have progressed as much otherwise but this is a big move.

Same as what I’ve heard / read. No longer as much of a defensive liability

Wasn’t a pretty game overall, but Dunn didn’t hurt his draft stock tonight.

I said “he gone” when he hit that tough fadeaway

I would rather he take that tough fadeaway jumper than take a couple of free throws
