In the Korean basketball league some players are intentionally banking in FTs with good results.

I’d like to see bad shooters experiment with underhand and banks. If their ego gets in the way of the experimentation, they have bigger life problems than FT%.

Sochan switched to one-handed free throw shooting last year and improved his shooting by like 30%.

I know this has been posted on LRA before… but I think its a good read on whether Dunn… or Beekman for that matter… will be back next year. I mean… it’s really why Beekman was back this year…

I don’t think either of our guys is in that situation. Beeks will have 4 years and his degree. He might wind up in a similar situation, but it’s time to go. Continuing to think RD’s likely floor is still around 40, where he will get a guaranteed deal. Average is probably more like 20-25.

I think Reece gets drafted mid second. Higher if we keep up our level of play. He’s been great. Basically solidified what people knew last draft but showed his shooting has a ceiling when he’s primary guy. Nothing all too surprising.
Plus he’s been great with a much higher usage (3P aside).

They go up to the rim and their psyche is ingrained with Dunn’s sneaking up on them to swat that shit. Fake themselves out and finish weak

I’d love to have Dunn back next year and I do think it’d be the best thing for his development to quell any concerns about his limited offensive game now. But he’ll be 22 during next year’s draft and would be going into a much deeper draft class in 2025 so tough to argue with the financial reasoning unless he skids down to late 1st round, early 2nd in the next couple of months

Yeah people seem concerned because of this FSU game, but the refs were hell bent on jobbing our team and putting us at a disadvantage which was clear based on the hooks that both Ryan and Minor received defensive foul calls on, Dunn also got called fouls on a couple of clear blocks that occurred throughout the game. It’s tough to be impressive when your’e sitting the bench the whole time…
With that said if he worked so hard last summer to learn how to shoot, I guess I’m just not sure how our guys are training to improve? Does Noah’s Arc really work? Taine is *serviceable now in 3 years of being here on very small volume, and Dunn spent all of last summer shooting but no improvement?

I don’t understand the shooting either. Other than he’s at the point now where he doesn’t even attempt a jumper.
Which to me has gotta be mostly mental right? And maybe somewhat exacerbated by our play style (limited possession) and draft pressure? Or maybe he’s just a bad shooter which is maybe easier to diagnose (@DFresh11 what’s your eval of his form?).
Either way, I think we’ll get clarity on him sooner than we did with Reece. He should get feedback early on that indicates whether he needs to participate in the combine scrimmages or can opt out. Which will tell you all you need to know about draft position.
