Where on Earth has this Kings love come from?
I have no good explanation. When I started watching the NBA they were just the team I gravitated towards. Maybe a little of it was anti-Lakers, but I mostly just loved those squads. Webber, Peja, Bibby, Hedo, Vlade, etc. And for no reason I can define, their sixth man, Bobby Jackson, was my favorite player in the NBA for years.
I’m still mad they didn’t get a championship. They should have beaten the Lakers in that infamous play-off series. Ah well. Since then I’ve just followed story lines and players, like a feel a decent chunk of NBA fans do now. College basketball is where my fanatical fandom resides.
They had a big moment in the early 2000s. I think White Chocolate had a roll in kicking it off, tbh (in terms of fan interest at least).**
Arco was lit. Fun team. Kobe-Shaq counter programming.
** unless my sense of timing is off, which happens as I get older.
Also, Doug Christie wife stories. Who didn’t live those! (basically, she followed them on the road because she was worried about cheating).
The crazy Maloof brothers!
Honestly that Kings era needs a 30 for 30.
And Jabari Smith Sr. Now I realize I do remember his dad.
Virginia: “It’s been really good, I like coach Bennett a lot. He’s an easy guy to talk to. We talk about basketball a lot but also family, school and stuff like that. I think we have a really good relationship and I really like Virginia basketball and the culture they’ve built. They’re one of the most winningest teams in the ACC and have won a national championship. I want to win and be productive at a winning school so that fits that.”
#MakethatNotreDameVisitnothappen
He would kill there. That would be a double L
I mean if we define kill as making 1 tourney and getting to the round of 32 (as their “dream class” or whatever they called it has done) then that’s fine lol
And only after joined by a top 20-25ish OAD
He would have a very successful career at notre dame and be a great Fit. Didn’t say what notre dame would do with him. I think he seems like Nate laszewski who had a great game against UVa this year and has had a great career. So yeah Iit would be a double L to lose him to a team UVa would face every year
Agree, but I didn’t want to lose an opportunity to bury ND
You’re right on all counts but I don’t fear a recruiting battle vs ND for a guy we’re in on early.
same
Or USC or IU or Wisconsin or Maryland or most of these other jokers in on our early guys. Zaga obv w Buchanan, but they better offer in the next month and Bama w Dillone cause Oats is dirty.
I don’t know about that. I guess there are degrees of dirty these days and it’s not like I know what goes on at Bama that well. But they do seem to be on the “clean” side when it comes to promising NIL deals to recruits. Slowly figuring out which schools are players in that arena.
Dead period ends today right?
Yeah TJ Power plays tomorrow in Louisville. Coaches can’t go but I believe fans can.

And then straight to UVA for his official
Link for the streams. No idea on Jaydon Young and CP3s schedule. Have given up on following Tafara Gapare and Team Melo. No one else relevant for our purpose (sure there are sleeper names on staff’s radar that we are unaware of)
Jamie Kaiser Instagram highlight (again LRA isn’t letting the images/videos from insta pop up in the message)
Quick Jaydon Young clips too.
Saw on instagram Jack Salt is in Louisville Kentucky. Hopefully there to talk some sense into Tafara and his camp that UVA is where he needs to be.
I’m sure Jack can be very persuasive—especially wearing his ring.
