As the off-season ends and the real season begins, might as well put in my final iteration of a starting 5 before itā€™s out of my manifesting hands. Based on Odomā€™s play style and me doubting we will keep much but maybe more open to it but also change isnā€™t necessarily bad.

Jayden Epps
Donald Hand Jr
Daniel Skillings or Juke Harris (team Loaded connection/tamper hard here please)
Kaleb Banks or Kwame Evans Jr
Rafael Castro (heā€™s a little skinny but a good pick n roll big and defender).

If Epps isnā€™t as loose a stone, then try to Keep DaiDai or tamper really hard with Epps. Would also like to see Guy get aggressive with tampering for Young Peja (pitch he will get to work out with NBA players over the summer). And also That Dayton French center who might be available if Grant suddenly retires.

If we are assuming Odomā€™s VCU approach is the best bet at Power 5 success, he likes blocks and steals, he likes 3pt shooting, he likes attacking the rim. To be fair I think most coaches like these things.

With all the good games going on, the entire country is going to tune in to the upcoming Portal Brawl: FAU vs Tulane coming up on Im assuming ESPN+ or The food network.

Kaleb Glenn (the Louisville kid built like a tank) vs Kaleb Banks and Rowan Brumbaugh in the AAC quarterfinals.

If this guy enters heā€™s going to be a top guy. PDT scouting thinks heā€™s HM lock with chance to get paid. Justin Anderson seal the deal? (I think his Spanish club posts the highlights for all of his games on YouTube)

Would fit Odomā€™s 4 out, 1 in approach.

I voted Gertrude but it is kinda wild heā€™s so universally chosen as one we want to retain. Probably because he didnā€™t put out any tape this year to change our minds lol. But Iā€™ll be very interested in seeing how he recovers from the injuries

Does Odom have NC ties from his time at Charlotte? VCU has made a very high percentage of their 2026 offers to NC kids, especially in the Charlotte area.

I want everything to do with Kaleb Banks.

Also maybe starting 5 is a wrong approach to the portal. Look at Louisville, they have good portal guys coming off the bench. Get the best guys you can for specific roles and let it work out in practice and hopefully the money is good enough to convince people to buy into roles

No idea how he will be post injury. Bigs are hard to come by in the portal. Get the hometown kid. Keep the elite shooter.
