just walked by this photo in my basement that iāve walked by a thousand times. I usually smile but today i was sad. itās one of our prized possessions, John McDonnellās iconic (at least to me) photo at the end of OT against TT. John printed and signed it for us. We will miss coach bennett and the joy he brought to UVa fans.

I definitely get feeling sad but Iām also extremely grateful. We were so fortunate to have witnessed that run from 2013-2019. I try to think of the Natty in terms of how epic the run up to it was and how any fanbase would kill for a story like that. Itās the best sports moment any of us will ever have, nothing can top it.
Could you imagine what a VT fan would give up to have that experience? (For literally any sport not just basketball lol).
Iām also personally excited for a new chapter. Felt like we just kept slipping further and further away from our peak TB years and I hated that for TBās legacy. He didnāt Boheim us, which I can appreciate.

Reinforces all my thoughts about timing and Carlaās insistence that she can put her mark on the program.
Iāve thought for years that Norlander is the CBB journalist that TB has the best relationship with. I was surprised that Goodman broke the news and not Norlander, but sounds like Norlander was occupied on another story at the time.
