Iâm not dooming on that quite yet. A lot of these guys were recruited directly by Coach O or Sanchez, so thereâs a chance theyâll stick around for those guys too.
Wouldnât be surprised either way but am hoping we can keep most of the roster intact.

Yeah wanting Sanchez to have a shot and retiring now doesnât line up given the 30 day transfer window. High chance Sanchez wonât have a good shot.

Really hope his family (especially Laurel) is ok. Weâve been told not a health issue for Tony but he seems like the kind of guy that would deal with his own adversity quietly until better timing but drop everything suddenly if its a family member.

Any chance if it is something with his family, and itâs resolved in the next 6-9 months, that heâd come back in 2025-26? Kinda grasping at straws here I guess.

I was on that call. Wonât comment on what was said regarding the team because the VAF keeps us on lock down, but will say that retirement didnât come up as a question or as part of any answer.
And will just pass along my thanks (as others have). Will never forget the joy coach Bennett and team gave my father and me in 2019 before he died. My dad (82 years old) crying to me over the phone saying: âwe did it Presâ as I walked down the stairs between concourses in Minneapolis is burned in my brain. Can hear it right now. Thank you Tony. If thatâs the case, how pissed would you be if you were someone like TJ Power and had your pick of schools to transfer to, then got bait and switched for an unproven assistant coach? Or if youâre someone like McNeely and probably could have transferred to a team that is a 3pt shooter away from a title. I just canât believe CTB would do people like that.

They apparently have a window if they want, but everyone elseâs rosters are filled out, NIL contracts are signed, etc. To say they would be at a huge disadvantage would be understatement of the century.

To be fair in TJ Powerâs case it was Vandross doing overtime work to get him (when even the rest of the staff thought it was a long shot)

That seems extreme tbh. How many kids want to transfer at this stage, with the relationships theyâve built. I worry more long term if the season doesnât go well.
Also edit to add what others have said about the disadvantages of transferring at this stage. Roster isnât getting gutted right now
